LIP LOVIN'

Okay girls, let's talk about lipstick! I realized a few days ago that I had a great and untamable urge to talk about lip products. The unfortunate part was that I realized this whilst texting a boy. And though he mmhmm'd and such, it was clear I was marketing to the wrong audience. So, a blog post is here!

Let me begin my lipstick story at the start! After begging since I was 5 years old, mom finally bought me a "beginner" lipstick last year.  Which basically means it was clear but it had just enough pink to convince me, it was legit! So legit that KJ used it when he was desperate for chap stick! At that point, I was feeling kind of messed up, so I went and bought a HOT pink one.

Now, I love me some hot pink but NOT ON MY LIPS. Because hot pink is good anywhere but there. And then I was terrified of lip products for almost 6 months, since looking like a clown is not really my style. (Well, not intentionally anyway...)

But! Lo and behold, the heavens opened and normal lipsticks fell out! The harps were playing the angels were singing, and I found the babies. And while new irrational fears have risen out of lipstick (I always get it all over my face. Thus, I have to pull the "casually checking the back of my ipod" since we all know that when in distress, ipods double as mirrors.)

Anway, thanks for chatting! Do you have anything to add? Lipsticks are one of God's gifts, are they not?

A passion for.....never mind.

Guys, I'm not fashionable at all. I really push the "fake it till you make it" to it's limits. But nevertheless! I do enjoy shopping and fashion in general an immense amount. I have since I was a very little girl (or nut, your call.) and now I'm doomed!

That might be a little extreme.

Anyway, Since interviewing myself went quite nicely, I decided to go for round 2. Of course, tags are so 10 years ago, so I apologize for my not-quite-vintage-lameness. But, it was fun! That's basically the only deciding factors in decisions with me anyway, so I might as well put my pride on the line.

And in case there was any uncertainty, I would go with nut.

1) How would you describe your style?
Please, don't judge my current apparel status of gym shorts and a t-shirt that should have been washed about 15 years ago, but ideally I go for classic with a twist. Classic, as in preppy and pretty and clean (?? hopefully everyone strives for that!) and with a twist because I also find wearing polka dot socks with gym shorts attractive. Just kidding....(ish)

2) What are your wardrobe staples?
Skirts and Dresses and really simple necklaces that you can wear with 80 bagillion things. Well, if I had 80 bagillion things.

3) Most wanted item?
A floral print dress. Because I always want a floral print dress, duh! But if you really must know, this is what I'm drooling over (unfortunately, it might actually be literally.)

 4) Favorite designer?
Guys, I am a girl with wine taste on  a water bottle budget. Dumb that down to a 15 year old and you will find me going through clearance racks like nobodies business. But hey, a girl can dream! and I do, and it's of J.Crew, Kate Spade, Shoshanna, Lilly Pulitzer and MADEWELL (!!!!!) Oh and Kenzie and Zoe Karssen. I think I spend too much time dreaming, maybe?

6) How much do you spend on clothing?
I seriously think everything I own is under $25. In our family, the way to survive is to bargain, barter and use coupon codes. It's like a modern day Hunger Games! Or, I guess an olden days one. Whatever. I have no idea what I'm talking about.

7) Favorite places to shop?
Target (because whoever said money can't buy happiness has clearly never been to Target.) Gap, Old Navy and Forever 21. I also really like Aeropostales basic shirts.

8) Favorite fragrance?
Forever Red from bath and body works. It's heaven and puppies and chocolate in a bottle. Basically, a lot of wonderful things.

9) Favorite way to have your hair?
Easy! Is that a style? Cause if so, it's ALL mine. I curl my hair a lot, but I also love buns and braids and anything that takes under ten minutes. Because clearly I have a busy schedule, House Hunters is on ALL day long!

10) What is your go to outfit when you don't have anything to wear?
A dress. A skirt. Something easy that does not involve thinking for more than 5 seconds. Who in the world has time for that anyway? I usually just grab sandals and my VB and I'm out the door.

That sounded so lame.

11) Most prized possession?
My Vera Bradley, I use it to death. And I loooove my glittery shoes. But they also love my feet to death so we sort of have a long distance relationship. It's better that way.

Feel free to tag yourself! Just don't say passion for fashion. It's a grievous offense. Except I just did.....

Life: Beautiful

Forget reality, I'm all about aesthetics. "So worldly!" "So Vain!" you say. And yep, I totally hear ya. It goes like this: I'm particular about colors, shapes, fonts, photos. You name it! I carefully debate over EVERYTHING I pin. I think fancy people call it curating. You and I? We call it picky.

Imagine me in a bookstore. I don't love reading. I'd rather critique covers than debate plots. I was busy looking at the covers when Life: Beautiful caught my eye. It was the peonies, I promise. Anything with peonies and I'm in. I was happily surprised to find it filled with eye candy, colorful goodness and fluffly flowers. (?) It's like a Christian Martha Stewart magazine! And we thought that would be the day when pigs flew....

(I almost said flied.)

While still fake and still worldly, it was nice to find a magazine that was both christian and aesthetically pleasing. And filled with peonies! And cream puffs??! And adorable crafts!?

for reaaaalllls!

Pinked up

This is not astronomical by any stretch. But I'm kind of lazy. Okay fine. Totally lazy. As far as manicures go, this means I basically paint one hand and if we are talking pedicures, 6 of my toe nails. So giving my self a (FULL!) manure, is actually a big deal!

Remember last year when I said from then on I would only by Essie? Well I also said I probably would not be getting much nail polish. And I was totally right! This is my first bottle since 2011. I went for the Essie again. This color also happens to match every accessory in my room. Which proves I have a problem. And that problem is named Barbie Pink.

As far as my facial is concerned, it went okay. I used some facial thing Elise gave me. You plaster it on, then let it become plaster of sorts. After a while, you peel it off and (supposedly) have luscious and soft skin. That only happens if you can actually peel it off. And if you don't, friends will think your skin is peeling. Seriously, 3 days later I still had the stuff on.

Xoxo, Kryn

Wu Hoo - Hawaiian Prints!

I have lived in a tropical place almost my entire life, so naturally I'm smitten on Hawaiian prints. Just about every family portrait that has been taken has been filled with Hawaiian prints and kids who cross their eyes and  have crooked teeth. Jason Wu's resort collection is filled with pretty Hawaiian themed florals, take a look.

What do you think of these tropical lovelies? One of my life goals is to wear something Jason Wu. I mean, REAL Jason Wu. I do have a Jason Wu shirt, but its not "really real." With that said, I'd better go get a job.

What I would wear: Valentines day

I'm not wearing anything uber exciting today. Just a dress, tights and my old standby: a cardigan. I'm not into going over the top for valentines day. But, I'm sure I would go over the top if I had enough money to buy any of these things...
What are you wearing this valentines day?

On my radar: Spring Dresses

Since "spring" is fairly close I've been in the mood for dresses. Lot and Lots of dresses. Even though here I can wear dresses all year long, Spring just kind of seems like the time of year to acquire new dresses.

Here are the dreamers:
So cute! I adore the bowish thingy.

Mustard scallops? Divine.

And now to the practical ones...

This might be short on me, but I love how fun and playful it is. Plus, I love mustard anything!
Let me just say this....I LOVE CHAMBRAY. Thanks. I've been needing to get that out. I love Chambray shirts and dresses. Love, love love.

Are you ready for spring dresses? I don't think you need me to tell you that I am.

Bigness and Longess

I've been a slacker I admitted it and now we are moving right along. Rather than do 3 post for my 14 things I love, I'm just going to combine them all into one. I like things to be tidy.

Day 7: Baking with no dishes love
Bakery story is a fun little app that I only play around Valentines day. You open up your bakery and then bake away! I love all the treats you can make. And, NO DISHES!! You can make stuff and no dishes. I have to repeat it because it is extremely glorious. Of course, the fact that you can't eat it is not so great but whatever. No dishes= Love There is really not much to this game, but I totally love it. And I like Apps that make toast. Maybe I'm a little crazy? Nah....

Day 8: Emma Love (make it obsession.)
Okay, you knew this one was coming. I love Emma to the moon and back and back again. I smile through the entire movie (yes, even after I've watched it 7 billion times). There is just something uber wonderful about Emma. Maybe it's the English accents. Maybe it's the gorgeous gowns. Maybe because the men were actually Gentlemen. It might even be the fact that I am in love with their couches ( hmm, not sure couches is the "proper" term.) Also, Emma and I have a lot in common. We both talk too much and are way to nosy.

Basically, you have to go watch the BBC Emma this very second. Go!!!

On second though, hang around till you finish reading this post. Then you can go fall in love with Emma.

Day 9: Endearment Love.

The last one is Endearing terms, also known as terms of endearment. Believe me, I give everything and one a nickname. Tubs is a prime example, here is a sampling of hers:
Tubby
Pumpkin
Butternut Squash (please, don't ask.)
Miss Moon Eyes
Pudgeulator (these are not even words!)
Sophster
Punk
Punkadilly

You get the point. I also have a bunch of nicknames. My dad gave me most of them, I sort of follow in his foot steps with this whole thingy. Dad named a pillow case after Shaun Cassidy. I've been looking for Shaun for a while now. I'm still hunting for that purple piece of satin.

Thank you for suffering through this immense post. Remember your orders? Good, now be a good little kiddlet and obey!

Tea + Teacup = Love

I usually mean to have post of different subject matter in between, but the day kinda got away from me. Okay, lame excuse. I'm sorry

KJ was being a total dear and gave me his sickness. His didn't last long, and I'm hoping mine follows suit. But until then, this is how I intend to cure myself...
Blueberry Tea and Poptarts. Oh yeah. I loveeeee tea in teacups. It makes me feel dainty and sophisticated and like I'm in a Jane Austen movie....in my PJ's. Teacups transport me to another time period. Oh, and by the way, sticking out your pinkie is highly advised.

I will forever love tea in teacups. That is fact.

Happy things

Dad and KJ are out of town. Its party time! That is, if you consider reading economics or studying Greek partying. I don't.

So instead of thinking of terrible things, lets think of happy things shall we? Like Navy blue and white stripes?
All from Kate Spade, all over $300. All of these will never enter my closet. I thought we were supposed to be talking about happy things to get our minds of economics? This conversation is turning dismal.

Lets talk about glasses. Glasses are happy. I got my 2 new pairs. I love one. I have not worn the other pair enough to know if I love them or not. When I do wear them, I feel like I have goggles on and end up taking them off 5 seconds later.

You can sort of see them here.
Yeah, they're fairly happy glasses!

Also, I started to achieve one of my new years goals! Happy Happy thought. If you want to look back at them, click the lovely image with chevron stripes to the right of this. I'll let you guess which one I'm working on, I think you might know.

And if all else fails, I resort to Hand Sanitizer. A forever source of happiness.
And it happens to be a little cheaper than a Kate Spade dress. Like $298.50 cheaper.

PC SP

What is PC SP, you ask? Pink Christmas Sneak peek!

I'm of to piano and then AHG, so I don't want have time to do a full PC post, but I wanted to show you what it will be....It is one of my favorites so far.

See you tomorrow for the full post!

New Perspective

Same thing, but does this help?

Okay, probably not. But here's a hint: think Christmas.

Wouldn't it be nice?

Wouldn't it be nice if I had a lifetime supply of lip gloss?

Or lotion? Or Hand Sanitizer? Or body butter and perfume and shower gel?

You bet it would!

There is a box in our living room for me. It's big enough. And it's bulging. And it's from Bath and Body works. Sadly, I have to wait until my birthday to open it. But it gives me a lot of time to guess about what's in it. To shake it and smell it and speculate.

And...its BIRTHDAY WEEK! Three cheers for our family's awesome tradition. You are so envious. I know it.

Happy little day

Today was just one of those days. You know, when life goes well and you are happy. I am generally a happy person, but sometimes I'm just about the crabbiest person ever.

However that was not the case today! And here is why:
  • I made the cutest crafts. Crafts make me so happy. I am waiting until December to share them with you....uh which is only like 7 days away!
  • I slept in until 10:00 (applause!)
  • I killed a bug. I don't like death, but I am totally fine with sending bugs to their watery, bleach filled grave.
  • I wrote a bunch of letters. I love writing letters. A whole, whole lot.
  • I started listening to Christmas Music.
  • I am planning my Christmas outfit. It is going to be so cute! It will stay 100% top secret until the big reveal!
  • Daddy got back from his trip, and I am so thankful we in here in the warm weather this winter.
And tomorrow is Thanksgiving! Isn't that enough to make anyone pretty happy?? I think so. And the day after that comes the best shopping day of the year! And then my birthday is soon and the Christmas and then new years!

It just keeps getting better and better.

Yep, it was a good day.

Floral Flowers

Apparently, I make floral flowers! Isn't this just the cutest? Even the pink thread that is not supposed to show is cute!

I'll show you how to make these later.

Just a little post....

  • I am working on two really cute little crafts that I will share. They involve flowers. I am noticing I really like flowers. My room is filled with flowers.
  • I am going to start collecting piggy banks. They have the cutest ones at Target (hint!)
  • My purse might just start dieting. More on that later.
  • One item was checked off my winter wardrobe list : Mustard Tights.

So that's that. Happy Saturday!

It aint easy

Being a ballerina always sounded so magical to me when I was a little girl.

And maybe when I was 11.

But anyway...ballerina's are graceful and cute and they have pink tutu's which is pretty awesome. And pink shoes that clank of the floor. And pink tights! They love pink just as much as I do.

Today I watched a video of my old ballet performance. Ahem.

I don't think I'll ever be a prima ballerina. Being graceful is absolutely not in my bones. The whole thing was pretty hilarious. None of us could really dance. We just sort of waved our arms around in different ways and moved our legs.

But we all had pink shoes and pink tights so it was still fairly awesome.

Newvember #15 Ballerinaisum is for the pro's.

Girly stuff

I love being a girl. I love girly things. I love girls. I am one 100% girly.

And I absolutely love it that way.

Today I made bread. That's pretty girly right? I think so.

BUT...maybe its not girly enough.

So I made braided bread. That is super super super girly.Loving the blue tint guys....I mean girls. The end result - a perfect girls day celebration!

Okay, so maybe that wasn't the best celebration ever...

But then again, it totally was.

Happy girls day!

Sincerely,
Queen of all things girly.
I told you.

The Weekly Post

Yes, It's already week 8. I know you have been eagerly waiting for this week's design!

Well, there is it.

I love this one! (I think I say that every time, but this time I really mean it!) The font is amazing, first of all. And then I adore all the colors in clip art.

I already designed week 9 because I'm having so much fun designing. It is the cutest one yet. But you'll have to be patient!
