Summer Syllabus because I pretend I'm fancy

Summer! Summer! I feel as though summer is a bit more nostalgic feeling that it actually ends up ever being. Like I imagine all these perfect, romantic sunset picnics while in reality it's more of a battle between you and misquotes, and the bug wins!

But for the record - I'm an optimist.....

In my dreams.

Like last Summer, a Summer list was in order. On a hardly related note, it needs a new name, "Summer List" is just as generic as the brands at walmart. But that's for later. For now I give you my list, for the sake of whatever.

Make Macaroons
BUILD MUSCLE! YEAH!
(ironic combo, no?)
Visit a new state
Continue working on the splits
PARTY IN PUERTO RICO!
Internet free week
Concoct twisty lemonade
Got to the beach at least once
FACE the Library!
Get contacts
Buy a summer perfume.

Alright, that's done. Now, what's on your summer agenda? list? record? I totally just looked up synonyms for list and dun dun dun, syllabus! How fancy shmancy does a "Summer Syllabus" sound? You gotta admit, it's got a ring to it.

Summer Syllabus it is...of at least until I change my mind again, which will probably be in 20 seconds. Enjoy it while it lasts!

New York, New York

New York is just one of those cities that makes you bubble for no particular reason. Other than wildly amazing flowers and the rad skyline, of course. We hit New York this past weekend and walked a ridiculous amount and saw all kinds of crazy good things. And also some equally weird things, but that's the city for ya! I tell ya, I can't get enough of this going new places. It's quite invigorating!

Just like watching House Hunters! Nothing gets your blood pumping like a case of "This one has the fab pool, but that one has the postcard view!"

Somehow, all conversations lead to House Hunters.

Anyway, this is probably the first of many New York posts, so prepare yourself for the feet pictures and city pictures and the pictures of me looking like I would rather be swimming with alligators than having my picture taken. Sometimes seeing a photo of yourself is the worst form of torture.

Other than missing an episode of House Hunters, of course.

What dreams are made of

People  people, if you don't own a pair of polka dot jeans, something is terribly wrong in your life.

That being said, I guess my life was pretty terrible until 3 days ago! But now? It's pure heaven and sunshine and lollipops. Everyday I go bathe in frosting, frolic in peony fields and feast on bacon and ham and cheese and bread and cheesy bread.

And then I don't fit in my jeans anymore.

But anyway! I'll probably keep these jeans even if they don't fit ever again. Because when you find 70 dollar jeans for 12 bucks, you're keepin those babies forever. And i mean FOREVAH. Or something hiperstish like that. I'm seeing tea cozies and wall tapestries in the future for these suckers...

(ps: they are from heaven i mean Gap. Same deal.)

A day in Chicago Town

I would like to start this by saying that when you read the title, you MUST pronounce Chicago correctly. Well, actually, you must pronounce it the way I say it, and we can debate about correctness later. Basically, it's "CHICK-AGO". Really stress the O guys. And southerners, don't feel left out! If Georgia is your home, "SHICK-AGO" is your game.

Now, proceed to read about Chick-ago. And say Chick-ago a few more times, because it's fun!

Up and at 'em for an earrrrlllyyy morning!

Okay fine.

It was 10:30! But still! A traveler needs her beauty sleep. And plus it was freezing outside, so staying in a warm cozy bed seemed way more attractive.
Then we went shopping!

And then I was broke!

Chicago does do beautiful things, no?

My favorite thing about traveling to different cities is that I know no one there, so therefore I can act like a dork and no one will remember! It's bliss! No more shame as I trip on the sidewalk, no more embarrassment as I have food dripping down my chin. Cities don't care! That being said, I do think Chicago has kind of an "I'm spying on you!" attitude. Get with the program, Chicago, you ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO CARE!"

I think I will end this conversation between me and Chicago. I always like to have the last word.
Oh hey, it's me! Oh hey, it was also 40 degrees and I was in a mini skirt! Now Grandma, don't worry, I wasn't really. But I might as well have been naked because I would probably have been an ice cube either way.

Like I said, cities don't care.

To end our blissful day we went to THE BEAN. I mean, it's a bean! In Chicago! At sunset?! What is not to love!? It was magical....and freezing. But I digress.

After beaning it up, we walked a few more blocks to check out the art museum. There was a gala going on so lots of ladies in formal evening gowns and men driving BMWs. I totally fit right in....except I was wearing all Target. Practially Oscar de La Renta for the middle class! YEEAH!

Our last stop was Navy Pier, mostly to re-live my Vera Bradley Dreams and pretend I was
Liz on Location since that's about all I did in the 13th year of my life. And then we went to our happy hotel to watch sponge bob and eat applesauce.

duh.

Happy Adventuring to you - and you can see my last trip to Chicago HERE. (PS: No celebrity sightings this time though...next time? It's on.)

Palmy and Balmy

Lately I've been indulging in summery things such as sleeping in and doing nothing all day. What a rough life I live! Also not mentioned (but mentioned now) that I have not gotten dressed in 4 dismal days which is also slightly scary because that probably (not definitely) means I have not showered in 4 days either.

Which is only slightly disturbing, in my opinion.

-Watching dumb and dumber, then using KJ's toothbrush. Ah ha! Isn't there a Bible verse about guarding what you watch??!

-having a 20 minute conversation with mom about eyebrows.

- getting my mouth stuck IN a Gatorade bottle. No, I'm not 3, although we all may wonder.

-You know what's sad? When your life is like a Miley Cyrus song.

-it's also sad when how many times I misspelled Miley. 18.....19.....20....

-that airports play classical music in the bathrooms. Why??

-stretching in the AIRPLANE bathroom, my head was practically down the toilet.

- running into publix and shouting "SARGENTO CHEESE IS ON SALE!!!!!" The baggers were all curious about my commotion. I was to busy grabbinghoarding all the cheese to notice.

- grabbing my towel after showering and finding it stained with pudding and blood. Apparently, I am a very messy eater and shaver. (clearly, this was more than 5 days ago.)

That being said, I think I will go get in the shower. Go as in bolt. Well, as quick as I can bolt, which is only slightly faster than a tortoise. But slow and steady wins, so we're all good.

Have a palmy and balmy weekend! Whether that involves sweaty high fives or palm trees I know not. Just make it palmy.

B is for blue

Not much to say about this other than "I LOVE BLUE" and "I WISH IS WAS A MILLIONAIRE!" But isnt' that what every girl says after she makes a mood board with all her retail dreams?

Absolutely!

Have a happy weekend, full of beautiful blue things. I insist!

one, two, three, four, five

So this is how we look....

Hear ye! Hear Ye! Apparently, this is how Miss (un)Photogenic looks in front of a camera of decent stature. Notice Miss (un)Photogenic's flashy and vibrant rubber bands, such a style statement! So fashion forward...!

ANYWAY,

KJ got his Senior pictures taken a few weeks ago and I tagged along. More like I followed at an almost creepy distance and stalked. But! I wound up getting my picture taken so I guess my stalking proved worthwhile. FINALLY. I've only been waiting 14.6 years to have my hard work pay off.

What? You're a stalker too??! Great! We're practically twins. Except, maybe your rubber bands arent quite so flashy? Join the club, it's rad.

ps: my dress is from Target.

HEY MAY! and goals.

Mondays, I am your friend. Maybe even your BFF??! Yesss.

I feel like Mondays get a bad wrap....why!? I for one actually do not enjoy weekends. I actually like having things to do and stuff to accomplish, and weekends are just kinda blah. So when Monday shows up I'm dancing and cheering.

Like today for example, I was dancing in the diaper aisle at Walgreens.
THREE CHEERS FOR MONDAYS!

Now that we've got that foofoo stuff out of the way - it's time to get straight to it: goals my friends, goals! You love Mondays too right....?

MAY GOALS:
-paint once a week
-write once a week
-walk new places
-make ice cream!
-order pictures

Whatcha been up too lately? Catch ya later!

Fauxgrams for a cold and rainy Wednesday.

Also known as the most discombobulated post title ever.

But seriously! Isn't saying faux so fun?! It makes a girl feel like a fancy lady , one who wears a fur stole and a flapper dress with Mary Jane's, frolicking around New York City with her Yorkie in tow.

I said faux a lot today and unfortunately I didn't feel anything like that. No Yorkie, no fur, no NYC. More like rain and yoga pants and brillo pad pups. Faux real!

But anyway, here are my fauxgrams, meaning this is what my instagram would be full of if I was hip enough to have one. I got hips alright, but not insta hips. Totally different things I imagine.

Happy Wednesday to you!
