A perfect pick

Confession Time: I'm kind of picky.

I generally prefer to think about it in a more positive way. I have unique taste, I know what I like (and honest about what I don't.) but the bottom line is basically that I'm picky about pretty things.

That being said, Agenda shopping is such a chore. But what a pretty one! It's a beautiful thing for your biggest decision to be: stripes or polka dots? Last year I was new to the colorful world of agendas but I'm tackling SENIOR YEAR in the same amount of style.

(That being said, sweatpants days are a given. Hopefully my agenda can make up for the lack of attractiveness.)
O K A Y    T H E   O P T I O N S !

Is there anything more Kryn than Pink Lemonade? No, not really.

Oh, how I love Ban.do!

I set my sights on the Ban.Do agenda a few months ago. Since setting foot (and nearly passing out) in the Ban.do pop up shop,  I've been stalking their website at much as you might expect a stalker to. BUUUUT....While aesthetically pleasing and overflowing with inspiration quotes
("Eat a whole pizza, I dare you." is exceptionally motivating.) I wasn't totally pleased. The paper quality is poor and it was just a BIT to big for me and the background is actually a little off white.

(ocd much. picky much. HIGH EXPECTATIONS much. I digress.)

And so, I ended up with a Lilly again. Because I love Lilly. I love the size of their agendas and the cute prints and Jackie O wore Lilly so I feel her spirit with me as I'm penciling in my scheduled pinterest sessions and tanning times.

(and like you know, all the classes I'm taking this fall.)

Many thanks to Tubs for helping and in general being my best friend. Are you picking out an Agenda for the school year? For the sake of your family and friends (four legged variety included), I highly suggest not being quite as selective (not picky, see what I did there!) as I can be.

HAPPY LAST YEAR OF HIGHSCHOOL!

K as of Now.

Because who doesn't love a little self documentation?
(aka: things you make while watching nextflix on a sunday night.)

SO IT'S SUMMER, YOU SAY.

I woke up yesterday morning at 9:30. I checked Instagram. I pinned puppy photos on Pinterest. I ate breakfast (which included 3 different forms of chocolate) and watched Sponge Bob. Then I didn't brush my hair or put makeup on and I certainly didn't bother to change out of my pajamas.

YOU GUYS SUMMER IS THE BEST.

Since I spent the first 5 weeks of my summer traveling, yesterday was my first official lazy summer day and wow. I'm never going back to school or getting a job or having a life. I'll be by the pool till I'm 90 if you need me.

In the spirit of summer, sweat and swimming, I decided to reincarnate the summer list. If I do decide to go back to school (or if my mom makes me. Darn!) then that means I've only got one month left to eat popsicles and do nothing all day.

Talk about a packed schedule.

So here's the list. It involves food and hopefully a tan. If not, there's always photoshop.

What's on your SUMMAH LIST BABY? I also forgot to add eat creamsicle popsicles but I have a strong feeling those will end up happening no matter what. But just in case!

and for a holy cannoli throwback which I am alllll about these days:
{2012 goals} {2013 goals} {2014 goals}

DEAR J.CREW, I LOVE YOU.

I first heard (or rather read) of  J.Crew in a book seven summers ago. Borrowing it from the library countless times, I would pour over the pages that were lined with images of Michelle Obama. Of all people! "She's relatable, she's not different from you or me. After all, she wears J.Crew!"or so the book tried to convince me.

Though it wasn't successful in convincing me of Michelle's relatability, it did introduce me to J.Crew.

And oh, do I love J.Crew.

FOR THE LOVE OF NEUTRALS

If you don't follow me on pinterest....you have a life.

Congrats!!

It's no secret that bright colors are the way to my soul. But then! I was looking through my pinterest because what else should one do? And I noticed a whole lot of neutrals.... AND THEN  another day I bought a shirt that wasn't obnoxiously bright or plastered with a hypnotizing print....and it felt like I sold a little piece of my soul.

So here's something you don't often see! Kryn playing around with neutrals. Kryn liking something other than pink.

It's a great day in History!

I'M ALIVE, BLOG'S A FRESH!

We're already 7 weeks into school! 7 weeks! I wasn't even sure I'd make it one so I'm pretty impressed that Heritage hasn't killed me yet. Not sure what I've learned really though, a bit on feudalism and a fair amount about misplaced modifiers. BUT what I've really learned about, through detailed study and careful observation...and some experience, of course, is procrastination. I mean, by the end of the year I'll probably deserve a PHD in this fine study.

Anyway! You may have noticed that things are a tad bit more fresh, a little simpler and just a bit less homemade. Which homemade is fine when it comes to cookies but something about September just begged me to freshen up and make things a bit less humble around here. Have fun looking around, if that's your thing.

And if not, then what are you doing with your life anyway?

Off to pour my heart and soul into some painful poetry...and of course, pinterest.

(that procrastination we talked about? You know it's happening.)

Remember (the) Alamo (Square Park!)

If you want flowers, go to Alamo Square Park! If you need to see some amazing houses, go to Alamo Square Park! If you are itching for a great city view....

I think you get the idea!

Needless to say, this was my favorite part of San Francisco. It's like this magical little oasis in the middle of the city, full of cool people (lots of yoga do-ers and dog walkers) and basically the prettiest houses I have ever seen. Also, IT'S NOT WINDY THERE. And trust me, once you get to SF, you will appreciate that fact.

suddenly, it was spring.

KRYN'S RECIPE FOR A FINE SPRING DAY....

-Find a fun song ("In the Sun" seems to be my Spring tune, for obvious reasons!)
-throw on your favorite dress (floral prints do nicely!)
-and don't forget the sandals! (and fresh pedicure too, while you are at it.)
-casually wander into your neighbors yard and take pictures (and only later realize they have a security camera....)

A quote, for what it's worth

Gosh, I am a blogger and I can not lie! I can't keep myself away, so humor me anyway. I found this quote (how pinteresty! how artsy!) and cliche-ness aside, it was pretty great. Grateful today for grace, a loving heavenly father and let's be honest - pajamas!

Hebrews 4:16 Let us then with confidence draw
near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy
and find grace to help in time of need.

Pinning patterns or some other cheezy saying...

First of all, is this a mood board or a collage or a pintastic something or other? Words like pinspired and pinspiration really bug me. I don't know why either, since I'm probably the most pinspired of all the peoples.

I noticed that a few of my pins matched (#yeah!) so...dun dun dun! A collage/moodboard/pinspiration collage or whatever floats your boat. But these colors are sooo good and a puppy with tinsel is makes it 10 million times better. You know it.

follow me on pinterest, and what colors have you been loving?

I feel like I should end this on a banana hashtag note....#bananas. There!

C is for citron

Is it weird that lemons and limes give me cuddly feelings?

I don't think so!

That being said, citron is just as cuddly! It's like a good old quilt and a steaming mug of cocoa on a rainy day. And of course, a good bit a procrastination mixed in. Those rainy days, shoot.

Anyway! Citron is one of my faves and yeah I could say yellow but I could also be boring, and that's boring. I could also try using some logic, but maybe not! Thumbs up for citron and that this ramble fest is coming to an end.

1. J.Crew   2. Anthropologie    3. Kate Spade Saturday     4. Target     5. Anthopologie

I made a tumblr (and I'm telling you.)

So Guess what? I have a Tumblr! I know, super awesome alert. Me? Tumblr? OMGoodness.

For some reason, I'm wildly excited about it. Maybe because it's just SO me? I kinda love things like that. Like, when I see a dress that has my name all over it I give a few squeals, dance like who knows what and grab it in ten sizes like there's a mob rushing after me. Shopping in style, that's what it is.

Now, how did I get off on the subject of Shopping? Mystery of the century.

Anyway, you should follow me on Tumblr. And you should NEVER go shopping with me. Moral of the story for sure.

Dressed in overalls

Probably the best quote I've ever seen.  Math sure does look cute dressed in overalls huh?

Happy Monday everyone! I'm sick. For those of you who've been reading my blog for a while, you know that's not highly unusual. Basically, I get sick every 3 months. It's just awesome!

For the makers of Dayquil at least.

PS: DayQuil has a Wikipedia page? Say Wha??!? Geez, I might be the ONLY person in the world who knows this. Except you now. Let's keep it our little secret okay? (It's a seeecrudd if you're really fancy.)

Birthday Signage

Today I made a bunch of signs. On obnoxious yellow poster board. And it was SO cool!

Right?

And then we went to this persons house, and hung them all over, danced for the edible arrangements man and hid under their beds. Birthday Surprises are the BEST!

I've never really celebrated a birthday quite as big as this one. So of course, over the top yellow posters  and streamers and balloons were just so OBVIOUS!
I think if I grow up and IF I work for a company that is in the birthday party sign making industry, I'll be seriously happy. Making 90's look like donuts and signing with creative names could NEVER ever get boring.

Happy Birthday Nana! (although, I don't even think she knows I have a blog....)

PS: In case you were wondering, Tubs and Bubs will be my co-workers in our birthday signage business. Who else would I ask for design advice?

Possibility of Dreams

My friend and I recently started sending quotes in all our letters. Mine are usually pretty deep. generally involving  sunshine, bacon and things dorks do. But they are cool! I found this today and had to share. Although sharing involves you making this full screen so you can actually read it.

I know, sheesh. So much work.

Clothing Crush

As usual, I'm loving a FEW to many things that happen to be WAY out of my price range. But wouldn't those shoes be like sunshine on your feet? Seriously smitten over here, guys. What clothes are you crushing on?

As I was shopping for this (okay, browsing and drooling and wishing I was a millionaire) I though maybe I'd make one of these every week. But then I made it. You have no idea how tedious it was to arrange 20 little dots in a row. But that birdie in a beret? Totally worth it.

Feeling like a photoshop boss

Weekends are for moaning, groaning and experimenting in photoshop! How did I do for my first time around? Fact: I have a weird profile.

One of my goals for the year was to learn more in photoshop. HTML was a bust (I have serious perseverance issues, it's July and I've given up?!) but photoshop is not so bad! I rather like it. And I'm totally in love with the constellation silhouette.

Which one is your favorite? And what are your favorite things to do in photoshop?

Love, The Boss

Down by the water

As we were driving home from the concert, the clouds were practically yelling "stop and take a picture of me!" so what's a girl to do? (convince her mother to) Stop of course! I ended up not getting a great shot of the clouds - due to the fact that there was a 6 ton bridge in the way. But the sky and sea were pretty and I was just as happy. (Okay, and so that's not really the sea, it's a river. Just imagine.)

Yes, this is the 3rd time in the past 4 days you've seen my feet in those shoes. I kind of love feet shots (Oh, you didn't notice?) and when you are wearing espadrilles that look like taco's, you might as well take a whole bunch.

AND! My new Photoshop awesome thingy majig? Textured Text! I already tried saying that 5 times fast and it didn't work, so I'm not going to advise you to do the same. But textured text is what I did and I can make my text out of any image now - who's boss?! Oh yes. Me, the 8 year old.

Happy {Fri} Day 7/13

Wow. I am totally repeating a photo from yesterday and totally hoping you don't notice and totally ruining that chance by pointing it out. But hey! I've never claimed to be the brightest. I think the biggest awesome thing about the week was my Photoshop messings. We've had it for over a year, and to be honest, I didn't even know how to save a photo. I did a little digging, a whole lot of moaning and finally figured out what I wanted! I'll show you Sunday. (It's really not that exciting, but I've been wanting to do it for a while.)

Oh, and I got to be a Starbucks girl today. Similar to this time, but it involved getting a drink, waiting for it, AND having your name written on the cup. I was totally impressed. I am also impressed by people who can curl their tongues and wear belts over cardigans and look good. And I say totally way to much.

How has YOUR week been going?

Xoxo, Kryn

Awesome day

I made this a while ago, but didn't totally have a reason to post it.

Today though, I need to be awesome. Totally awesome at the swim meet.

Thank goodness I consider 6th place awesome!

Wish me luck! Xoxo....Kryn
