KRYNS GUIDE TO RED LIPS

It's really a shame that we all can't be Taylor Swift.

I'm not even a huge Swift fangirl or anything, but I think there must be charming things that come along with being Taylor Swift (1. popularity 2. good parking 3. photoshop) Oh, and being able to rock a red lip!

I used to be under the impression that you had to be T-Swift in order to wear red lipstick...sucessfully. But it turns out you don't have to be! You can just be yourself and get lipstick on your teeth and die of embarrassment later. But I wouldn't know from experience.

This one is great for when you're just dipping your toes into the hypothetical waters of red lipstick. On the softball field, at church, this one is a versatile color. And the tube has polka dots on it I mean HELLO. #turnon

(Benefit Bene Balm. $18)

When you want to be like Taylor Swift but without the commitment of a color that requires you to check your teeth every 24 seconds (been there, done that). These glosses are great (I'm on my 5th or so) and this color is no exception. Looks great with black, pearls and a little bit of sass.

(NYX Butter gloss in Cherry Pie. $6)

Okay so once you've mastered the lip balm and the lip gloss, it's time to graduate from Red Lip Academy and move on to bigger and better and bolder and brighter things! Always have a mirror or camera phone ready for mandatory lip stick checks! Just make sure to do it when your crush is not looking....see there's more to the art of wearing lipstick than meets the eye!

(Revlon Lipstick in Love that Red, $8)

There you have it! The little army of red lip products that can lead you to a life of song lyric fulfillment.

Is there anything more to life?

"And I've got that
RED LIP CLASSIC
thing that you like"

nope.

Some pink for spring! (how unsual!)

I feel like every new season, I need a few refresher makeup items. Granted, need is a relative term, but still! One should never underestimate the powers of a fresh coat of lipstick or a swipe of new nail polish. It's one of life's greatest mysteries how something can simple can totally brighten our moods.

In other words, girls are really confusing!

Anyway, for spring I was feeling the hot pink. Which is funny because as a pink girl through and through, the amount of hot pink I have is surprisingly small. So of course, I had to remedy that situation! Essies "Mod Squad" (So good!) and a NYX lipstick in "Fig" seemed to do the trick nicely.

What colors are you sporting this Spring?

LIP LOVIN'

Okay girls, let's talk about lipstick! I realized a few days ago that I had a great and untamable urge to talk about lip products. The unfortunate part was that I realized this whilst texting a boy. And though he mmhmm'd and such, it was clear I was marketing to the wrong audience. So, a blog post is here!

Let me begin my lipstick story at the start! After begging since I was 5 years old, mom finally bought me a "beginner" lipstick last year.  Which basically means it was clear but it had just enough pink to convince me, it was legit! So legit that KJ used it when he was desperate for chap stick! At that point, I was feeling kind of messed up, so I went and bought a HOT pink one.

Now, I love me some hot pink but NOT ON MY LIPS. Because hot pink is good anywhere but there. And then I was terrified of lip products for almost 6 months, since looking like a clown is not really my style. (Well, not intentionally anyway...)

But! Lo and behold, the heavens opened and normal lipsticks fell out! The harps were playing the angels were singing, and I found the babies. And while new irrational fears have risen out of lipstick (I always get it all over my face. Thus, I have to pull the "casually checking the back of my ipod" since we all know that when in distress, ipods double as mirrors.)

Anway, thanks for chatting! Do you have anything to add? Lipsticks are one of God's gifts, are they not?

On my radar

I am always thinking of things that would make my life complete. Of course, none of these will ever do that, but sometimes I like to imagine that I'd be the happiest and cutest girl in the world if I had these things. Don't remind me I can be sort of shallow okay? Thanks.

Lip gloss! Of course, I always could use some more. And then new tropical flavors are perfect for spring!

Address labels. I write so many letters, cute address labels seem sort obvious.
A Vera Bradley! I already ordered mine in the new spring color, so this shouldn't really be on the list. But I don't actually have it yet, so technically I want one still.
A cute $75 dollar coat with striped nautical, navy lining that I wont wear? I want this so bad.

What have you been wanting lately? I hope they are in your budged, unlike mine. I'm sort of a dreamer like that.

Almost time

Almost December - woot woot! (my trademark.) In my brain it's already December. The calender is being a little slow - I'm waiting for it to catch up.

Now, with Christmas coming, everyone is getting in their Red and green mode. I refuse to be drawn in! I personally despise Red, green and gold Christmas stuff. Why does Christmas have to be limited to those boring colors, I ask. If you have a out of this world reason, tell me. If not, no green here and red is going on a serious diet. I'm okay with red most times. But not always.

This is so cute. Please notice that there is a way to convey Christmas without smothering everything in Red and Green. I strive for pink perfection this year.

You all should be pretty confused by this thing here...
But I will reveal soon! I love it. It's Christmasy, and pink. Keep guessing, you'll stumble on the answer sooner or later.

Ugh, I really want this. Give me liberty...or lip gloss.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My friend sent me this. I really wish I was cool enough to come up with something like this by myself.
"I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing.
I believe in primping at leisure and wearing lipstick.
I believe in pink. I believe that loving is the best calorie burner.
I believe in kissing. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls.
I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles."~Audrey Hepburn
Although, I probably wouldn't have said it as well as Audrey. I agree %100.
Wouldn't it be nice?
Wouldn't it be nice if I had a lifetime supply of lip gloss?
Or lotion? Or Hand Sanitizer? Or body butter and perfume and shower gel?
You bet it would!
There is a box in our living room for me. It's big enough. And it's bulging. And it's from Bath and Body works. Sadly, I have to wait until my birthday to open it. But it gives me a lot of time to guess about what's in it. To shake it and smell it and speculate.
And...its BIRTHDAY WEEK! Three cheers for our family's awesome tradition. You are so envious. I know it.
Going Random.
I have to inform you, my blog is going random. It will continue to focus on celebrations, but there will be other post as well. These will be filled with puppies, pink, feet and possibly lip gloss. I'm just going to warn you about the last one. I promise I wont be like "So here's what I did today..." Everyday, because I don't really care for that style of blogging. Why am I telling you all this? Because I'm going random. Its a lifestyle. Celebrating can be very limiting and restraining at times. But it is also strangely, weirdly fun. I love it.
My Fortune from a cookie, is from Panda Express. We are all weird about Panda Express. Once upon a time (that was not so very long ago) We lived in a town with 10 restaurants and not a Panda Express for miles. Whenever we went to the "City" (and it was only a large town!) we dinned at Panda Express. Its was Great. Then it was good. After that, it was just okay. I don't know what happened, but none of us really like Panda Express at all anymore. It's kind of sad. One Fortune I had said I would go to the Beach soon, and I did....2 years later. Also, the other one says that Wednesday is my lucky day. I am yet to be Impressed by Wednesday. It has never been a favorite day for me.
Sincerely,
I'm really cuddly.
