Night (and life) changes

We're only getting older baby
And I've been thinking about it lately
Does it ever drive you crazy
Just how fast the night changes?

(I thought that today, of all days, One Direction Lrycis would be appropriate. )

Walking back into class after a break, my friend Tricia mentioned not wanting to cut her hair. Being the only advocate for short hair in our circles,  I demanded to know why she wouldn't just go for it. Because she said, we graduate so soon! It won't grow out by then. I brushed off her excuses (Hair Grows! Its so far away anyway! It doesn't really need to be long either!). I could forgive her for prejudice against short hair....but I couldn't forget the fact that graduation is closer than I realize.

I turn 18 this year. Which by law means I'm an adult. By the worlds standards I am capable of making my own decisions. By my mothers standards I should be able to clean my room in a reasonable amount of time. As a child I always assumed that the older you got the more life made sense, the easier things got and the more you felt sure you were making the right choices.

But no! Every passing day life confuses me more, I'm not sure about anything really and the choices I make? Heck, I can't even decide what to order at McDonalds! (besides a sweet tea Do I want to go to college? Go Overseas? Pursue underwater basket weaving?

13 months till graduation, which seems like a split second eternity. 13 months to trust in GODS plan for my future, not my Pinterest infected view of reality. Either way, I hope it involves sweet tea from McDonalds. Because as of today, that's the only thing I'm sure of.

“It's about a girl who is on the cusp of becoming someone... A girl who may not know what she wants right now, and she may not know who she is right now, but who deserves the chance to find out.”

Easters Past

Every year, Easter brings back many, many, memories. For some reason, I always remember me sitting on the stairs yelling at mom about hard boiled eggs. I remember weird things. Another Easter I had a sleepover, another one I FINALLY had age appropriate clothing. I always remember the egg dying and the ham eating and church going too. But this Easter (this as in, that I was so little that I didn't know that when I sang I sounded like a frog,) was by far the most memorable. And by this I also mean about 10 years ago.

Rewind to when I was a little, cute girl. Rewind a little past before Easter to Palm Sunday. Then, you come to this:
None of us really know why or actually what went down that Palm Sunday. But yes, basically, My best friend was hitting me in the face with a palm branch. On Sunday. In front of the entire church. I think its where I got my gift of multi tasking. I was trying to sing, remain looking cute and figure out why she was hitting me (as I was doing in the picture #1) I vividly remember me begging her to stop. But apparently she never heard me. She continued to whop me on the face throughout Jesus Loves me or whatever we were singing. Oh and get a load of my authentic Jerusalem Garb. It's just awesome.

So that is my #1 Easter memory. I think it will always top all others because it is really quite funny. What is your favorite Easter memory?

Big Girl Camera love.

I love my big girl camera like no body's business. It was the best big investment I have ever made. And also the first. Of course I have more terrible photos than good ones, but when I do get a good one the first words I say are "I love my camera." Without fail. 100% of the time. And 2 months after having it, I finally decided to break out the instruction manual to some stuff out. I didn't figure anything out, but I learned a lot of useless info.

By the way.I love my camera. Amen.

I feel smart

The reason? I figured out how to avoid the snipping tool.

I used it alot, but I didn't like it. But it was sort of the only way I could figure out how to get words on pictures. I was forced to use it. I had no choice.

But now I have found a new way and I am as happy as a clam.

I can use all my cute fonts now. It is completely grand.

Evouloution of Camera's

This is the only kind of evolution I believe in.

PS: Oh, you may have noticed that the Sophster is hanging out by our tree! And I got my CD. Life is good again!

Girly stuff

I love being a girl. I love girly things. I love girls. I am one 100% girly.

And I absolutely love it that way.

Today I made bread. That's pretty girly right? I think so.

BUT...maybe its not girly enough.

So I made braided bread. That is super super super girly.Loving the blue tint guys....I mean girls. The end result - a perfect girls day celebration!

Okay, so maybe that wasn't the best celebration ever...

But then again, it totally was.

Happy girls day!

Sincerely,
Queen of all things girly.
I told you.

Look Closely

Newvember#7: Look Closely

Those were the BEST pajamas's!
I told you. I've always known how to dance.
Please excuse the background.
My first and only time carving a pumpkin.Miss Photogenic.
Kare! Me! In a dress shop! On the floor! Imagine that.

Santa Monica, CALIFORNIA!!!!!!!!!
The only semi normal picture I have of me at age 12
California and good friends -love.
Bestest cousin ever, last Christmas. It was Star Wars okay? We get kind of excited.Brother and I last weekend.

So that's that. I could really groove at age 3. It's a gift!

Sophie and the stick

Sophie loves sticks. And she especially loves Bubble's stick. So of course, she needed this here stick.

Her plan of action is to distract, then go for the stick.Everything goes according the crafty plan of a young punk.
Unfortunately, Bubbles caught on to the mischievous plan.

A long spasm/fight followed.

This looks really uncomfortable. Finally, many awkward positions later, my punk claims the stick. Victory!
Congrats, punk. You won the Battle. You got the stick. Life is complete right?Of course.

That is, until Bubbles finds another stick.

Lucky?

I don't know about you, but I don't classify myself as a lucky person. I mean, is luck even real? At this point we reach a dilemma. What about fate and chance? Philosophy is not my forte. Getting to the point, if luck is real, my aunt is really lucky. Something about her is lucky. I wish i could have inherited that. She got to meet Oprah (not that that is something to be proud of.) Glenn Beck, Train and she's chatted with Stu at Barnes and Noble, what an honor! She's always the lucky caller on radio shows. She's always Wednesday night Bingo winner at the senior center, and she's not even a senior.

So in honor of Lucky (Me) day, I entered a contest. Along with about 5000 other people. But who's counting anyway.
Isn't this just the cutest? Generally, I despise scalloped lace, but on a P.W. mixer, its adorable. So please pick me Ree, because that would really make for a great celebration.

Today I went to Emmers and made prune cake. But I didn't even get to eat any! Isn't that just so horrible? (I'm not being sarcastic here, I really like prunes. I like cake too so it can't be that bad) We were going to deliver some to Shy Guy, but we ran out of time. No cake for me, no cake for him. Sorry buddy, but that's how things work around this joint. I really don't like not being able to have cake.

Sincerely,
According to my Chinese fortune, Wednesday is my lucky day.

PS:
I love lemongrass.I really like this too.

P.W. does not know me. She has no idea I exist. There is the link for ya. Too bad I'm not being paid for all this great advertising. Then I'd throw away that old Chinese proverb. After all, its Friday.

Today we take pictures

I am so excited!!! I have to use exclamations marks to correctly display the amount of my excitement. In case you have not figured it out, I love camera's. I love taking pictures. I like being in pictures too. I take about 300 pictures a month. No joke. So I did take a few pictures today. Not as many as I would have liked to take. I was sick this morning. And then when I actually got around to taking pictures it was thundering. Here is one I took today.

I can't really decide whether I like this or not. I think it looks granny-ish. Maybe not. I also took some of Pam washing dishes. I like people who do my dishes. But I have a feeling Pam would not be pleased if I posted photos of her doing my dishes.

So in honor of camera day, I'm going to share with you several pictures my lovely little camera has taken...
This is Brooke. She got this Snuggie for Christmas. I insisted on taking her picture, she insisted on looking awesome. She want to be a model, I think she'll do pretty well too.
This is Elise. She's the only person who can look cute wearing a headband from the 90's. She is adorable.

I think this is funny because I don't know why J took a picture of me and Lexy taking pictures. I really like my pose. Model? I think not.

Nerd pride day with the walkers! Woot! I'm really trying to elongate my neck for whatever reason. Its something nerds do, I guess.

Elise and Brooke again. We were trying to get a good American Gothic picture. Obviously it was not working out so well. They are so cute, I love them!

And while we are on the subject of American Gothic, Jack stepped in as the Gothic family dog.

I need to tell you about the Chalet. Last night Mom and I went to the Chalet to visit the Chalet Dwellers. I love the Chalet. It is darling inside. The mirrors on the stairs and the dungeon and the painted tiles make it totally awesome. I was teased about the Man eating chicken while I was there, And when I left my nose hurt badly. But I had a delightful time with the Chalet dwellers. And I got a few handshakes and Man Hugs in while I was there. The Chalet Dwellers do a different kind of Man Hug. It kind of hurts. And hugs should never hurt.

Sincerely,
Every day should be like today
