I'm a mutt

Its Mutt's day. Generally, I think of Mutts as dogs. But I'm actually a mutt of sorts. I'm talking about my genealogy here people. I am Swedish, Norwegian, Canadian and something else on my dads. On my moms, I'm a Daughter of the American Revolution and Cherokee. I'm so pleased with my blend. It's pretty neat.

Right now I'm watching Huckleberry Hound. He is the coolest. I love old TV shows. They are the coolest. This will be very short for me as generally I show of my wonderful gift of gab. I'm sick today so I don't feel like doing anything.

Sincerely,
Oh my darlin'

Haha

I love laughing. I'll probably live to be 110 because I laugh so much. Or maybe not. I'm the type who thinks little things are hilarious. I love to laugh. Clearly.

I was a little lost at what to do today. Am I supposed to make someone laugh? I was confused. But I went to the Farmers Market and saw the dancers and realized I was doing OK.
These, I'm sure, nice people come the Farmers market every week and dance. I wonder what their inspiration is because they always do the weirdest moves.

Serious Comedy folks.

This is also really hilarious. We each took a few sniffs. After all, they were free!

This is Gypsy! Gypsy because she travels around and does not stay stationary. Troy wanted to name her Connie after a motorcycle. But she doesn't look like a Connie does she? I think not. My grandma said she might keep her after we leave.

Sincerely,

Sniff Sniff

Name that kitty

(This is not a test. This is not a scientific blog. In case you hadn't noticed.)

Today I found a kitty. Actually Troy did. That's not relevant. The poor thing looked like it had not eaten for days, so we gave it some food and water and now it's napping happily. I'm going to keep her for a few days.
She's really much cuter in person. Or cat. Whatever. If you have a name suggestion, shout it out! I would love to hear your ideas!

Sincerely,
How about Lucy?

Milk and Chocolate

Clearly, I love milk. I also like chocolate. When you combine them, you get this insane combination that I love. My favorite kind of chocolate is milk chocolate. Isn't that ironic? Lets get to the point, chocolate milk is fabulous. I don't have it very often, and whenever I do I always wonder why I don't have it more often. I forget how much I love it. And that is really pathetic. It's all mine! I look crazed. I'm sorry? Maybe because I am so excited about chocolate milk?

So here are Dad and KJ celebrating. KJ is more celebrating the galaxy tablet but whatever. He's drinking chocolate milk on chocolate milk day so he's celebrating. I always wonder how many people unknowingly celebrate obscure holidays. That is something to ponder.

Sincerely,
chocolate milk is a beautiful thing

PS: My blog is having some template problems. I'm sorry. I'll try to fix it as soon as possible. Until then, please keep reading'. (and after that, please keep reading.)

A tribute to the 80's....and parents

So this is kind of a late tribute to Parents Day. I started off with full intentions of blogging and did not. I also wrote a post for Aunt and Uncle day and forgot to post it. What a lame blogger!

I wanted to post current pictures of my parents. However mom disagreed. So here are the pictures I have for you:This is what the 80's can do to people. I think my dad should ditch his tank tops and don more age appropriate clothes. But hey, that's just me.See if you can find my dad in this one! Now my dad is bald. Partly by choice and partly by fate. I guess it was not cool to be bald in the 80's. The 80's were all about poofs. And sadly bald people couldn't participate in the poof revolution. Being bald is not frowned upon any more. Its trendy. My dad was so ahead of the curve. My parents are in the middle here. I hope my mom is not wearing a jumper. Look how in love they are. My dad was probably secretly envious of my moms awesome 80's hair. The poof. The smell of hairspray. Yes, he was probably envious of all that.

Its chocolate milk day. We don't have anything to make chocolate milk day a successful celebration. I'm going to go learn how to mow. We are clearing the lawn of all trailers and other lawn ornaments that might be damaged in the process. I've already run into a trailer on a snowmobile. It was not pretty.

Sincerely,
I have the coolest parents!

Pioneer Person

The only Pioneer I know is my moms friend Ree. And I dont even know her. That's how fragile this relationship is. She wrote a cookbook and I really like it. I've been to the edge of her ranch. I practially know her. But I don't.Here's the cookbook. We even have a signed copy. Ree is my brush with greatness. She is so cool she is getting a show on food network on August 27th. I absolutely will watch it.

I actually had a dream about this Pioneer Person. I dreamed that I went to her Ranch and we ate chocolate sheet cake and enjoyed ourselves immensely . I also dreamed that I saw this really funky cow that looked like a sweet potato and I thought it was weird. Her kids thought i was some crazy city girl because I'd never seen a cow that looked like a sweet potato!

Sincerely,
Dreams do come true....sometimes.

Cousins are cool

Frankly, I've been dreading this post. I have not posted in so long. Ok, so only 2 days. But Still that's a while. This will be long, so sit tight.

I was so sad I was unable to blog on cousins day. I have 11 cousins on one side and 6 on the other. They are all extremely awesome. But When I talk about my cousins, I generally talk about my 3 amazing cousins. I see them the most and have the most stories and the most fun.Brooke, Jack and Elise. I'm sure you all know of them. They are so funny. We had a tradition where they would come to our house every Thanksgiving. We decided we'd like to resume that tradition. Brooke for some reason thinks I am obsessed with geography. I'm not. But yesterday I was talking about Justin Beiber, since I'd just seen the movie, and Brooke says "Oh my goodness, you are almost as obsessed with Justin Beiber as you are with geography!" These are both false statements because I am not obsessed with either. I'm no beleiber. The movie disturbed me. Justin Beiber has the strangest fans. And just because I know Tunisia is a country does not make me obsessed. I'm passionate.
One side of Cousins. Minus 4 kids. We are so cool. If you can name all these people, I will be ecstatic.

This was probably the worst and best day of my life. Kellyn, Katie, Brooke, Elise and I all dressed up in our Grandma's clothes. I have to say that my grandma is actually pretty stylish, but we tried to make really ugly outfits. This is not a tribute to her fashion sense. My grandma was not thrilled. But we had so much fun.
On cousins day, we did "glamor shots". You may have noticed, we did not quite master the glamor. Don't ask. I honestly don't know what we were doing.Jackson stole my camera. Tsk, Tsk. I actually love it when people steal my camera. Not permanently of course. Jack took very hilarious blog worthy pictures. He secretly loves this blog.
Its no secret Brooke likes my blog. She posed with my blog in mind. This is the second time this week she has forgotten to use a cup. I obviously don't drink much milk at the cabin.
Elise offered to take a picture of me surrounded by Vera Bradleys. I did not object. I'm pretty sure this picture resembles heaven in some way. Brooke thinks they are for squares. They are not. They are for amazingly cool circles. I will admit to being obsessed with Vera Bradley.

Today I went to the Farmers Market (Beatrice's home!) and got a feather. It's very appropriate as I am actually Indian. There is Cherokee blood in my body. My Indian name is Singing Deer. Some people don't get it, but I think it's really cool.

Sincerely,
I'm embracing my Indian heritage

PS: To clear up any confusion, I mean Indian as in the feather.

Time for a Nap

I sort of had a nap today. I napped until 10:30 this morning. Up at the Cabin, the girls have been having very long discussions late into the night. Since it was my first night home, I decided to sleep in and celebrate. Today KJ left for a 3 day concert with his friends. I went with Grandma and the Cousins to a Lady's house to make cards. They are so incredibly cute! I did a pear and a strawberry. Elise did a strawberry and dolphin. Brooke did a strawberry and bell. They are all awesome.
Brooke and I agree both of my cards are terrible quaint.

Back to the subject of napping. My dad is an expert. It is so funny because he says he is going to go
"read", but what he usually does is read 2 pages and then take a nap. He also likes to "rest his eyes" during movies and when Mom reads aloud. :)

Today is also my grandma's birthday. I'll refrain from telling you how old she is, although I'd really like to share. Happy Birthday Grandma!

Sincerely,
Forced Naps are never a good idea

Go Flight Attendants!

I feel very strongly on the issue of Flight Attendants. I think they deserve more respect. They do more than pass out peanuts and give drinks. Today at the Cabin I was watching Modern Marvels, it happened to be on the flight that crashed into the Hudson River. It told of how the flight attendants had everyone off the plane in less than 3 minuets. They were pretty amazing. I know the safety shemeil by heart. I know that pamphlet like the back of my hand, and in case of a unexpected water landing, use the cushion of your seat as a flotation device. I'd say the flight attendants have done a pretty good job of informing people. And I've also been listening to it since I was 3.
Here's a flight attendant doing her job. Wanna know a secret? I've always wanted to try one on. Thankfully, I've never actually needed to in all my flying, but I've always wanted too. I also have a bad record of flight attendants and safety shemeil. One time I was leaning out into the aisle to watch the lady do this and another flight attendant ran into me. It hurt.

I've been with my cousins a lot lately. Elise, Brooke and Jack are all exceptionally cool. Last night I stayed up until at least 1:30 explaining to Brooke about all the things that have been happening in the Middle East. Brooke now knows that Yemen, Tunisia and Saudi Arabia are countrys. Elise joked I should run for presidents. And while we were watching President Obama on TVtoday, Brooke stuck her tongue out at him. I told her to stop and then I stuck my tongue out at Sean Hannity. Our family rules!!!
Elise and Brooke painting signs. Grandma always has a craft for us each year. I really like this years. We are also making a 3D art thing. In case you have not noticed, art is not my thing. I'm going to make a K out of spoons. I love spoons.

Funny story that has nothing to do with Flight Attendants Safety Professionals day:
Last year several of my friends were using a writing curriculum that had them write a article on spoons. I took this a little too literally and thought that they had to write a whole essay actually on spoons. It was only 2 months ago that I figured out that spoons were the topic. I was so confused.
My fab cousin Brooke. BTW, I told her I signed her yearbook and she had no idea. She'll have to wait to get home to read it. :)

Sincerely,
Yes, Tunisia is a country

PS: I forgot, and how could I, that my purse is here! I love it. I will show you some pictures tomorrow, it is too cute.

I scream

I feel like I'm having deja vu. I think I've used that title before. Anyway, Ice Cream Day is so cool (pun indented) that they announced it in my grandma's church. I believe the church members have been secretly reading the Garden of Happiness or more possibly Kate Beards blog. Either way, its cool beans for me. I ate a wonderful ice cream chocolate bar. It was so incredibly good. My grandma always has several different Ice Cream treats on hand. I love the cookie sandwiches. The one I tried today was so fluffy and good. And see that shirt? I made it! Well, I did the tye-dye any way. Double sweetness!

I'm waiting for my grandma to come pick me up to go to the Cabin. Brooke has ben begging to read this blog of mine. I'm still deciding whether I want to her to or not. Here is a picture from camp I have to share:

If this does not confirm that the Thunderbolts rule, I don't know what will.

Sincerely,
E and E, how fitting!

Happy Camper

I am back from a wonderful week at camp. I have never had so much fun in my life. My counselor was amazing. My cabin mates were hilarious. I had an amazing time. I was in Thunderbolt and my counselors name was Flash. We all thought that it was very fitting. Everyone in Thunderbolt was amazing. I love you girls! So here are the Thunderbolts: Sidney, Lizzie, Maddie, Gen, Kaitlyn, Me, Alyssa, Emma, Hailey and Flash.
We celebrated dress like your dorm day in style. We went back to the '70's and '80's. I did not exactly love my outfit. I was in the bathroom when everyone picked and got the bottom of the pile. I had a lot of fun though. And Gen, I love your outfit.
Mud pit! I was by far the least muddy. Rolling around in freezing mud was not my idea of fun. I smeared mud on myself just for the picture. The other Thunderbolts were really into the mud though, it was was fun watching them.

Emma and I chillin in the boat during swim time.

Thunderbolts love Twix. We all ate so many this week. There's also a Paprika camper in this picture. I think she likes Twix too.

One of my favorite parts of camp was all the dancing we did. Apparently, Thunderbolts also like to dance. Maddie and Lizzie do this hilarious Sponge Bob dance. Lizzie and I also made up our own dance move. It is pretty sweet. I was imitating a commercial and Lizzie suggested that it should become our new dance move. It stuck. Sweetness Lizzie!

Today I saw my cousins Brooke and Elise and Jackson. I had alot of fun. Elise informed me she is now a Beleiber. Gasp. I'm going up to the cabin tomorrow so there might not be any blogging from me. I'm sorry. It's summer. Let me be free.

It's hot dog day. I had a hotdog this week at camp. Maddie did not want hers so she gave it to me. It was dripping hot dog juice and so disgusting. I don't think I'll have a hot dog in a while.

Sincerely,
Forever a Thunderbolt. BOOM!

The cow is a wonderful creation

I am so thankful for the existence of cows. They are beautiful. They are dumb. They are tasty. Half of my diet would vanish if cows were not around. Half of my enjoyment would be gone. Woosh. Half of the tastiest stuff in the world would disappear. That would not be pretty.

When I was a little girl, I wanted to milk a cow. I was kind of a "city girl", more or less. I'd been reading Laura Ingalls and I was dying to milk a cow. So when we came to visit my grandparents here, they took us to a local cow farm. I was offered the chance to milk a cow. And ya know what? I was too chicken. (Got the farm lingo down.) Mom and Kj did but I was a wuss and did not. I did not have the thrill and joy of milking a cow. I will forever be disgusted with myself. I need to go back to Moo Poo, Grandma. I need redemption. I need to milk a cow.

The couple who hosted the 4th of July function have cows. We've never been introduced, but I'm sure they are delightful creatures. During the Function, a volleyball game took place near the Field where the cows graze.
The cows all came to the fence to watch. They were rooting for their favorite team. It was way cute.

This is a cute cow.

This is a hairy cow.

This is the most wonderful form of cow.

Actually wait, this is my favorite form of cow:

This is J. Go get em' J, moo your way to success. Moo Moo moo. Moo. Moo. I absolutely love mooing. Did you know I was a cow in my secret life? Just kidding. Moo.

Sincerely,
I appreciate cows like no other human
