JUROR #20

Three weeks ago I had jury duty. It was an early Monday morning, a 45 minute drive, pouring rain, getting lost in the parking lot, stressing over missing work and getting selected for a sensitive case kind of day. Lo and behold, I was picked and dubbed as juror #20.

Coincidence? I think not.

I've been talking a lot and thinking a lot about turning TWENTY later this year. Sometimes that number scares me, other times it motivates me....but most of the time it makes me confused/concerned about the fact that I still order off the kids menu. However, if my time as juror #20 is any indication of how the beginning my twenties is going to go...I'll pass on that birthday, thank you very much! It took a lot of crying, nervous gum chewing and "yes, your honor" to get out of that courtroom.

And so naturally, the first place I went after my emotional exit was, of course, target. And I bought this dress. And a can of soup. And a calendar.  But just so you know, I would never stoop to the level of emotional shopping!

(everyday)

Hopefully I'll leave implus shopping in the dust with my teen years. But for now, I'm not 20 yet! So I'm going to enjoy it (and my new dress!) while it lasts!

CLASSY GIRLS WEAR....

Top: J.Crew Skirt: J.Crew Necklace: H&M Sandals: Saltwaters

....A shirt that came in the mail 3 hours earlier. The shoes you've worn all over the world. The skirt you have in 5 different colors and a necklace that you left outside one night.

On second thought, maybe I'm not too classy after all ;)

A day at the fair

Yesterday we went to the fair. I basically love fairs. I like the fried food, riding cheesy rides and looking at all the entries. Oh, and I like making money. This year, I made $145.  I am pretty much a happy clam. I entered these killer brownies that won Best in Division and Best in show. In other words, $75 dollars. I even considered not entering them, because they did look horrible! But of course, I'm thrilled I did because they can support my shopping endeavors. I am now thinking of all the great things I can buy. And I wish Fairs came more often. Because I know it won't be too long before I'm broke again.

Thanks Emily for taking pictures! And if you were wondering, #1 is what you should do if you want to model pathetically. I'm just here to help you all. XOXO, Kryn

PS: What do you think of my dress? It was not what I pictured making, but it turned out cute. Its also kind of Retro! (Eeek! I love retro/vintage stuff.)

Festivus!

I have not posted about a celebration in a really long time....oops. Anyway, hope you were festive because today was Festivus day! I assume Festivus includes general festive things such as, drinking eggnog, listening to Christmas music, wrapping presents, and so on. I decided to look up Festivus in the dictionary, because I was somewhat confused about the meaning. Turns out, there is no meaning because Festivus is not a word! So we have creative liberty today!

Here are some festive things I did:
  • I painted my nails red.
  • Went Christmas shopping
  • Tried on my Eve outfit.
  • Watched a Video on the making of the Michael Buble Christmas Album.
  • Wrapped presents
Here's my favorite. It does not exactly shout Festivus.
  • Wrote a letter in a red pen.

The last one is sort of lame...but since I have some liberty today, the red pen is the most Festivus thing around!

Sincerely,
Red = Festivus.

Eve of Eve

It's Christmas Eve Eve! What are you most looking forward to about Christmas? I am excited about making physical contact with all the presents under the tree, and the Christmas eve service.

You may be wondering why you didn't hear much about my outfit. Well, it was sort of a flop, but it was redeemed somewhat. During early December, I was busy planning it, purchasing accessories and so on. I was planning on buying this as the skirt.
I was going to get it in Grey, although the pink's not too bad! But sadly, I am a lazy American and didn't order it before it was retired. (And being American has nothing to do with being a lazy soul. I'm sure there are lazy people from every country.) After that depressing shopping disaster, I kind of had given up all hope for an outfit. I was going to wear
what I wore to the recital. (...)(Everything but the dress I got with my Christmas Eve outfit in mind. And you can't see the best thing - red tights.)

But in Gap the other day, I stumbled across a black skirt. It was super cute. It was bubbly and had pockets. And the real deal is that it was one dollar cheaper than the accordion fold skirt.

So now I sort of have a Christmas Eve outfit. Although it is not how I envisioned it in the beginning (Yes, I gave up on the gold jewelry.) And it is very similar to my piano recital outfit, it is still super cute.

I think I say cute way too much. Over and out.
