Pink, I love you loudly.

It's no secret: I love pink and I love it loudly.  There are 3 hot pink houses on my street. The first purse I bought was pink. Flamingos have always been my spirit animal.  And even at 19 years old, to me there is truly nothing more beautiful than a vivid shade of pink- whether it be coral or neon or flamingo or rose or blush. (if you need more profe, here's an ancient blog post.)

You can imagine my excitement when Pink started to be trendy again. Coral velvet couches, dusty pink sneakers, pink instagram filters, blush bridesmaid dresses, baby pink moody tumblr posts - everything is pink. And in honor of that, and also in honor of the fact that it's Thursday, I thought you deserved to see all the good pink things that are floating around the Internet today.

You can thank me later.

Not only does this outfit scream Nancy and Steve but it's also pink perfection. Actually, everything Haley wears is perfect, I'm obsessed and I'm not even going to bother saying low key obsessed because yeah.

This is an article all about pink and as you can see, it's pretty perfect! It's also surprisingly detailed, thank goodness there are other people who appreciate pink enough to write an article about it (which i would do!) and also spell check said article (something I wouldn't do.)

I don't really know much about this other than it's in Mexico and I'm in Florida and it's pink and I love pink. Looks pretty dreamy on instagram and idk, I'd be down for going with anyone this summer (well, anyone who can take good pictures of me in front of it. Gotta keep up the aesthetic ;))

We all know Ban.Do is the way to my heart. And this cutie bag with pom-poms is no exception! I mean, technically I need a backpack for college but honestly, I'd rather have this sidekick bag instead. I could fit like what, a pencil in there? Good enough for me.

Happy Pink to you and yours. And don't forget: whatever it is that you love, make sure you love it loudly.

I love to bake but boy do I love not following recipes so much more. I generally only cook things that don't involve recipes. Which works nicely for a lot of things but baked goods, let alone gluten free baked goods, don't always blend well with such an abstract approach.

I knew this recipe was going to be a keeper when I made it and realize HOW EASY it is. I've made it several times from memory now and each time I pop it in the oven, my recipe hating heart rejoices! No longer am I chained to a recipe or a website or a precious cookbook. This is living, friends!

Not only is it gluten free, dairy free, refined sugar free and GOOD, but it's also already in my mental recipe book and I'm pretty excited about that. In case you're curious to see the other desserts I've Made/been obsessed with (one in the same), here's the dessert tag.
(ALSO THE OG MUFFIN RECIPE. Oh my heart, 2012 was good to me)

// (sweet) SKILLET COOKIE (of my soul) //

i n g r e d i e n t s :
1 cup almond flour
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp cinnamon

1/3 nut butter (almond, cashew, sunflower, coconut, peanut, whatevs!)
1/4 cup melted coconut oil
1 egg
3 tbsp maple syrup
1/4 tsp vanilla extract

chocolate chips, amount is up to your sweet tooth

mix everything.

Bake at 325 (I use an 8x8 well greased pan)
for about 19-25 minutes.
(it's technically supposed to be made in a cast iron skillet
but we city folk have to improvise.)

(the most difficult step)
let it cool before eating.
(i know, ugh)

e x t r a  n o t e s :
*you can swap out the flour for any gluten free flour
Tapioca flour, coconut flour, almond flour, whatever.*

*make it vegan by substituting the egg for a chia egg*

*use dairy free chocolate and you've got yourself a delish dairy free dessert*

*chopped up fancy chocolate works well too!*

*I normally add extra flour. I like my cookies to
match my makeup, nice and cakey.*

*bake time varies, keep an eye on it.*

*in case you were worried or curious, it is totally acceptable to eat a
cookie for breakfast, lunch and dinner.*

Easter of another kind....

No bunnies, no hard boiled eggs, no floral dresses here!
Just me and my puppy and a blog post.

What is this, like a #fridayintroductions on steroids or something? I found this deep in the depths of my blog archives and instead of sending it off to wherever R.I.P drafts go, I decided to resurrect it and waste a lot of time filling it out.

The only reason I decided to follow through and post this was a.) I'm cleaning out my drafts and b.) I know I'll cry laughing (at myself) reading this in twenty years. Will blogger even exist in 20 years? Will I even exist in 20 years? Who knows. It all seems a little extra for 2017 but then again, what isn't these days.

For your sake, this post has been condensed. Click below to keep reading...but may I suggest making sure you have ample amounts of time because holy guacamole, it's long.

Long live resurrected drafts!
It's Easter all over again.

A bride and her broken fender

I got married and wrecked my car, all in one day!

When my friend Sydney reached out to me about modeling for her in a styled bridal shoot I was SO EXCITED. Like call my mom post on Facebook praise Jesus excited. Sadly when the day came, a few unfortunate events (aka me getting gas and running into a stationary object?!?!) caused a broken headlight, dented fender and mortally wounded pride.

Thankfully my mom came to the rescue and though it was a dramatic day through and through, it all worked out in the end. Three months later, my car is still severely dented with no plastic surgery in it's future. My pride is tested every time I drive it....think God is trying to teach me something?

Too bad I'm a slow learner lol.

So in short, I got married and my parents didn't have to pay for my wedding! Just the broken headlight and fender ;)

Well, take each others hands, not mine.
I'm just the photographer.

You probably remember Rebecca and Brandon because how could you forget a couple this cute? I'm happy to report that this time around my hands did not shake like a level 5 earthquake so that was very nice. I picked a location I wasn't totally sure of but it turned out to be MAGIC and the light was also magic, which happens to be a very desirable combination.

After taking their photos twice, I've decided to designate myself as their official family photographer. I also didn't ask their opinion on this, but hopefully that won't be an issue. They'll get used to it after a couple years.... when I show up for every holiday and special event.

Rebecca, Brandon...and Karissa? Sounds good.

The only reason I'm allowing myself to write this post in March about something that happened in DECEMBER is because it's about my job...which, as of this week, I've had for a year. In my mind, that justifies it somewhat.

But let's be real, it actually doesn't.

Working at Chick-Fil-A isn't easy or relaxing but it is pretty wonderful. And in December our boss took us all to Sea World for free, which made up for all the months we had to pay for break food. I guess another reason I'm documenting this here is because this was actually the first time I EVER went on a roller coaster. It only took me 19 years to make it on one without crying hysterically.

The interesting thing about working at Chick-Fil-A, affectionately called "Christian Chicken" or "Chicken Youth Group", is that 80% of the employees are not Christians. I'm actually in the minority there. It's never been an issue, but it's also kind of something we don't talk about at work. That all changed as we buckled in to go up on the first roller coaster. I told the girls next to me "Just so you know, I'm a Christian so I'm probably going to be praying out loud the whole way down." They laughed.

Sure enough, first thing out of my mouth after the big drop?

It wasn't a blood curdling scream.

just a "JESUS SAVE ME!!!!!!!!!!!"

Thankfully Jesus pulled through and I made it through 3 rides and what do you know, it was fun! Should have paid for the photo though because my praying face was PRICELESS. Such a fun day though. You think that we'd be sick of one another after serving chicken together 24/7 but actually, I wouldn't want to go with anyone else.

Chicken forever.
