Right where I belong.

I've been trying to take more photos lately, which fills up my camera card which in turn makes me not be able to take photos.

Funny how things like that work!

Guys, I started track. And it's painful. The lady who was helping us said "Are you a distance runner or a sprinter?" and I'm just like " I'm a sitter-on-the-couch-er." Ha, at least I'm not a liar. Today after our WAY TOO EARLY practice, it reeeeaaaallly hurt to move. So naturally, I didn't! Thank goodness there's a plethora of blogs and such to keep a sitter on the couch.....right where she belongs.

Observations at the dentist office

Today I had to go to the dentist. Not exactly the most exciting way to spend your Monday, but It had to be done. And honestly (Oh man, am I celebrating or what?) I don't like dentists, offices or anything that goes on inside there. There's way to much pain and not enough fun. And stuffy assistants? No Thanks.

First of all, there's the issue of personal space. Dentist have a way of getting in your personal space bubble. They lay machines on your chest and stick hands in your mouth and basically ruin the experience that was never meant to be enjoyed. They tilt you back so far you are positive your are going to fall into a big head over heels heap at their feet. Then they stick a light an inch from your face and talk.....like it's no biggie.

Then, the gloves. Have you noticed how smelly those are? They smell badly of plastic latex with a little powder-ish stuff mixed in. And then they go about 1 inch from your nose. And with nothing to do other than count sheep or look up your dentists nose, you have to resign to the gloves. The stinky gloves. I once went to a dentist who had scented gloves. OH MY. They were amazing. They were grapey and goodey and smelled just like kids medicine. (By the way, that's a good thing.)

And finally (although I could go on) speaking to your hygienist. I never understand which degree of conversation I should go for. Are we swapping stories like lifelong friends, or should we be exchanging civil pleasantries like newly introduced people? Should we be talking about the weather, my schooling habits, your kids who's pictures are plastered all over? People who fluently speak hygienist amaze me. I kind of wish I could learn that language, but on the other hand, I don't go to the dentist enough to put it to good use. I should just learn French. That's way more practical.

Thank you for listening. Thank you for understanding my pain. Thank you for going through this with me.

Getting your teeth cleaned can be a very hard thing to go through alone. I'm so glad you are here.

Sincerely,
And I came home and read about barbies....

Helpful Advice

On this blog, I often share helpful information.I pride myself on sharing useful information you use everyday. During Christmas I told you to cover your ears when Justin Beibers Christmas album came on. I proved that Pluto really is a planet. And more recently I showed you how to model pathetically. So I am here with another piece of wisdom: Don't ever get a concussion.

I have been figuring out that concussions are obnoxious, sneaky and downright annoying. Yes, I failed as far as Make Up Your own holiday goes. But the concussion side affects took over and frankly, they rule. Headaches ruin any chance of celebration. And Since I cant exactly shoo off a headache, I'm postponing this till I am side affect free.

I don't think I ever told you the story of my concussion. I basically just did. I got a concussion. But other random info is that I was playing football, hit a girl and got a bloody lip too. similar to my other bloody lip, but this story is a little less entertaining.) That's it. That little collision is causing me serious issues in the brain department. And it's so weird.

Have you ever had a concussion? Did you do any weird things? I think we should have a story swap If so.

So I'm sorry for the flop today. If that doesn't suffice, you can tell it to my brain. But don't expect it to listen, its not always polite. Xoxo, Kryn

PS: Tomorrow I get to pick up my milk carton I painted! I'm pretty sure I'm the only girl who likes milk cartons. But they are the vessels of the goodness of the earth, so therefore, I love them.

Journal love.

I love writing.

I like sharing my thoughts, opinions and ideas. I like writing things down. I adore making lists. I think snail mail letters are the greatest. I like blogging because its fast. I just plain love communicating.

Today is about journals because....of course, I love them!Apparently I like floral/damask print journals.

I love writing things down. The main reason I do it is so that when I'm a cool adult I can remember things about my childhood. I don't want to forget a single thing. So I write everything down and then some. I also have a prayer journal, bible verse journal (hopefully, you'll see more of this stuff soon) blog/craft journal and journal that mom and I share.

So today because its nearly valentines day, and because that has nothing to do with it, because I love journals and because I love you, you get to peek in my diary! For AHG, I had to keep a journal for 3 months. Of course, I already had a journal (diary, whatever.) so I just copied sentences from it and made a little thingy. (Gettin' real descriptive here!) I'm showing you that.

May 2011
I got my hair cut, I look like someone from 1940. All I need it two barrettes and I am ready to go. Today is the day people think the world is supposed to end. Am I writing this from heaven? Am I sitting on a cloud? Am I hearing harps? Nope. I’m still on my bed,. Hang on - I hear a trumpet…..Just kidding. The drive here was good. Except there was some insane lightning in North Dakota. And then to top it all off, its only 50 degree’s here! You can bet your china teapot I’m not the least bit happy. ____________________________________________________________________ June 2011 This weather is bugging me. My teeth hurt. And we have a fire on June 3rd!! Yes, we are bad. But cold! I had a sleepover with the Nuxoll’s and Jana. We found a man eating chicken and a man who collects cans and eats girls. Yeah, it was spooky. Today, at the farmers market, I found a rock that was painted like a lady bug and had glasses. I named her Beatrice. Right now, I am wearing my dress with rosettes on one shoulder - it has magical powers! But I made bread and each loaf weighed 2 pounds. So, I guess that proved that it does not have magical powers. ______________________________________________________________________ July 2011 Tomorrow is that dreaded dentist appointment. I failed in trying to get Dr. Silcher sick - bummer! (Next day) I actually felt nothing, getting my gums cut was a breeze! Thank ganache for modern medicine. Casey Anthony will be free on Thursday, can you believe it? I am in need of a new purse, so I ordered another Vera Bradley. I hope it comes before camp. I watched Justin Beibers Movie, his fans are pretty scary. Life is more than a boy who sings and wears purple high tops (and who has a rhinestone heart on one shoulder of his jacket!!!!)

So there you go. A little peek into my diary/weird thoughts.

Oh, and did I mention I love journals?

Please Pray

My sweet friend Emily was diagnosed with cancer about 4 years ago. She had a tumor in her skull, but it was removed and she was in remission for one year. Just today we found out that she has another tumor in her spine. Would you please pray for Emily and her family as they go through this challenging time?

If you would like to read more about Emily, click here. Thank you all so much!

NOT a celebration....

I'm sick. It's actually a providential time, I don't have to go to Economics! If there's any time to be sick, Monday and Tuesday are most certainly it. I used to get sick every month (sick: cough, fever, sore throat.) I knew the days I would get sick. It always lasted for 5 days. It was pretty much a routine. Thankfully, I got over it, surprisingly by having teeth removed. Now, I get sick before my birthday, and after Christmas. Seriously! I have it written down.

Sincerely,
Even my sickness is organized!

PS: Can I just say I am sorry for doing such a terrible job celebrating? I have missed almost every day this month. I promise to do better. Make me keep it.

Scary.

I don't encounter many Frankenstiens on a daily basis, and I would generally prefer to steer clear of any. Celebrating would be less than wonderful if I ran into a real Frankenstein so I'm going to tell you things I'm scared of instead of coming face to face with a green monster.

1. Bugs. I hate bugs so much. They are so incredibly freaky to me.

2. Snakes. Eww. They slither. They're sneaky. They eat cute mice. I dont like things that eat cute mice. Period.

3. Failing. To me, failing is one of the worst and scariest things imaginable. I would hate to fail in front of you. It is so embarrassing, and as if I don't already have enough embarrassing moments for you and me both.

4. People. I don't want to go into too many details, because after all, this blog is public. But certain people around the world scare me so much. I never want to meet you. You already loose. I know it.

5. Death. Not for me, I'm not worried. But for the people who die and have no idea where they are going. It's sad.

This list is really quite sad. So if you want to be nice, dont bring bugs or snakes or creepy people my way. Thank you. On a lighter note, I was looking at my files on LLB and found this:

My name is Kryn and I am a proud watcher of What Not to Wear. It’s hard to ignore, the daring and dashing Clinton, as well as the style savvy and sophisticated, Stacy. Together they will change the world and demand equal fashion for all. Long live Stacy and Clinton!

(Kryn N. is not a snob, but she does have uncommon fashion sense.)

I wrote this a very long time ago, so dont worry. I still love What Not To Wear. I watched one today. I also dont think I'm fashionable, but what am I supposed to say? "Kryn N would love to be fashionable, but unfortunately she is not." No one would go for that.

Sincerely,
Commin' for you Frankie.

Defeating the purpose

When I saw More Herbs, less salt day, the first thing that popped into my head was Basil Salt. But then I realized it sort of defeated the purpose of the day, So I'm saving it for Less herbs, more salt day which I'm fairly sure will roll around soon. If not, I will usher it in as a great celebration.

Herbs kind of confuse me. Don't get me wrong, I love them. They're pretty. They smell nice. But I sometimes am at a loss at how to incorporate them into the things i cook, which Is why I have insane amounts of Basil and mint in my garden. So even now, I'm no sure what to do. I need a clear direction for today.

At the moment, my right food is being choked in hot pink bandaging because I had surgery on my foot today. Saying surgery makes it sound like a horrible thing. And trust me, it wasn't that great. Here are some reasons I've compiled not to get a virus on your foot. (I just spelled it fut.)

1. It hurts.
2. It will have to be removed.
3. With a laser.
4. And since laser's hurt, a shot comes first.
5. You will not be able to run or swim for 3-4 days.
6. You will have to hobble around wherever you go.
7. People will ask you what happened.
8. You'll have to tell them it was a stupid virus.
9. It wont sound very important.
10. but it really, really is.

That was extremely pessimistic for blog this, but here is the good thing:The bandage is pink! If your foot (I did it again.) has to be chocked by a bandage, pink is pretty awesome color to be covered with. It is like the material that is on the outside of casts. I'm still considering if I want people to sign it or not.

Sincerely,
I want to go shopping and drive a motorized cart. I suggest you stay clear of Target for a few days. Things may not be pretty.

I Survived!

Glory be! The laser was not as painful as I thought it would be. I love modern medicine. It was hilarious because Dr.S asked mom and dad not to look at the laser, and I thought it was because they could sue him or something. I'm not quite sure what I was thinking. So I asked if the laser was Legal and everyone was a bit confused.I was not looking my best. But no one can possibly look their best when they are about to have a laser shoved in their mouth. I am proof. They used some numbing thing which I will forever love because I could hardly feel a thing.

Conversation between me and Dr. S:
Me: (after numbing stuff) Are you poking me?
Dr. S: Uh, I don't know, am I?

From there on it was a walk in the park. I can only eat soft foods and what luck that today is Strawberry Sundae Day. Too bad its not Sunday. That would have been extra wonderful. Anyway, so after my appointment, we went to DQ in search of strawberry sundae's. Our plans were foiled, as DQ was closed. The we went to McDonald's, but they were out of their strawberry imitation stuff. So I ended up with a hot fudge sundae. And I actually never knew they served the fudge hot. I though it was just a name. I'm glad I figured that one out. Who knows when I might have embarrassed myself over that.
McDonald's actually has good Ice Cream. Here is my actually hot fudge sundae.

You can't even tell. Its pathetic. I want people to be able to see the pain I avoided. And I promise I don't wear my glasses that low.

I'm a little bit confused about how to celebrate and blog about my celebrating while at camp. I'm thinking of having J guest blog and possibly have some prepared posts. I'm not quite sure.

Sincerely,
I'm glad I never got Dr. S sick.

Eensy weensy

Lets start off with a 4th of July re-cap. They do not involve those bars. We'll get to those buggers later. Anyway, we went to a function. It was a good function. There was good food there. Lots and Lots. I partied like it was 1776. Actually, I spent most of my time playing with people half my age. I played badminton with a 6 year old, and he was actually quite good.
Function Volleyball game. I did not participate. And that was a good thing. You'll also notice some curious cows in the back of the picture. My chalk garden. Katie was impressed. Katie is 6. But I think its very cute.I can honestly say, this is the 1st year I enjoyed fireworks. I usually hide. But this year I went outside without my hands over my ears. It was such a celebration! I actually stayed out longer than several of my family members. I was greatly pleased, and I get why people like them now. I enjoyed my 4th of July immensely.
E and C came over for the day. They were both sporting Aeropostale and E even had Converse. I was most pleased. These are the girls I'll be going to camp with next week. I go to camp Monday, Omygoodness.

E tried my bars. She said they were disgusting. She hated them.See what I mean? I thought they were bad too. But Dad liked them. I don't get it. But this recipe is going in the trash. Goodbye forever.

I am very tierd right now, so I wont go into lengthy detail of my celebration. I don't wear bikini's and I wont ever. I think that sums up my celebrating. I have a video of me in a ballerina outfit dancing around my friend who was wrapped in a tablecloth sitting on a chair in the middle of our driveway. I was singing the "Eeensy weensy teensie weensie yellow polka dot bikini" song. I heard if from a Yoplait commercial. And in case you were wondering, you will never see it.

Sincerely,
But I have a neighbor who practically does, and He's a he.

I've been naughty

Disobedience day is a no. No celebrating. I have been very disobedient at times. I can't escape my parents wrath. Ever. They are experts at understanding my disobedience. It is terrible for me. So I tried not to do anything too terrible today. Even though it was disobedience day.

Today is Sunday and thus church. I wore a delightful new dress and enjoyed talking with J, who now no longer lives here. I am not terribly sad because I will see J in a month. The W's even got a special page in the church bulletin. I was impressed. I want to be in one too, but first I need to do something extra fantastic. I also get impressed very easily. I was greatly impressed by the Amazing Worm trick my uncle taught me. He was impressed, I was impressed, and that was an impressive thing.

I've been staying out of the sun all day. I am still wearing that delightful dress. I plan on playing tennis this evening, when the sun is down. J has been doing impressive celebrating also. And I am so dreading this week. I need to be terribly sick before Thursday. I need to catch something horrible. I can't possibly be in the dentist office with a terrible sickness. I can't possibly undergo such a painful thing with a cold or a cough. And colds are very terrible.

Last night we went to my grandma's house. I mostly ran around the yard with my grandpa's dog, and I'm sure embarrassed myself in some way. Buddy is my buddy.
Very cute dog. He is also somewhat disobedient at times. If hek new about this day, he would be running into neighbors houses and stealing their stuffed animals. And that's not a new thing for Buddy.

With that, goodbye forever.

Sincerely,
Thursdays are the worst

PS: I just realized, I can skip the sickness. I just need to get my dentist sick. No pain for me. Sorry Dr. S, but this is serious. I can't do it. So you must become sick.
