PANTONE = WORLD PEACE (or something like that.)

Welp! It's been one of those weeks. You know, the weeks were every day is like so. incredibly slow. and you blink and it's Friday? And also one of those weeks where you are like "eh, things could be better." but eh weeks make good weeks seem even better. And maybe I should say like one more time just to round things up  to easy peasy three. And i did it! So whelp week is turning into WOOT week if you know what I mean.

But that's okay, no one ever knows what I mean. I've just kind of accepted that as fact. But sophie! And Fred? They know.

Totally riding on the "Stressed, depressed but well dressed." mantra this week. I just look so dang good in yoga pants, so what can I say?

And no, I'm not REALLY depressed. But! I will tell you that it is very sad when you find out that Home Depot does not have succulents. A day of mourning, for all!

It's good to be back.

It's good to be babbling again! I take great joy in forming sentences that have absolutely no value whatsoever. And now, on with your life.
And Lowe's has very fine paint chips. And so I guess all is well in the world then. Paint chips (probably)= world peace.

KRYN COLLECTS NAPKINS

Ahem!

I seem to go through odd phases. Except horses! Isn't that funny? Well, maybe not funny, but can you think of an 11 year old girl who hasn't asked for a horse for Christmas? I mean really. And she's probably thinking "I'll keep it in my bedroom and name it Daisy! And then we can watch horse movies together and we can share popcorn." Sounds pretty dreamy....to you.

There was the American Girl phase, the buildabears, the cupcakes, the cake pops, the journals, the note cards, the stamps...the pasta. You should see my shaped pasta collection! It's quite astounding really! It really belongs in a museum, but people just don't appreciate art as much as they should. Duhhh, pasta!!! Obviously right up there with Van Gogh and them peeps.

But now, to the napkins! I once read on a blog that you should collect cute napkins whenever you see them, and since then I have been on a mission to obtain the world's cutest napkins. Thankfully Target and Ikea seem to take great pride in contributing to the cutest napkin market, thus the reason my collection has been doubling in size. It's like magic, napkin magic.

The other interesting fact is that I am a terrible party thrower. Parties give me the willies. And I mean it in the nicest way possible. But at the same time, it's true! And throwing parties? I'd probably rather wear pajamas in public.

Maybe.

So, my napkin collection will probably be for the sole purpose of taking photos, which is fine by me. But please, don't tell my mother, since she's sponsoring this napkin extravaganza.

Ta-Da! Look at those babes! Perfect for wiping cookie crumbs or chocolate milk mustaches. Too hoity for killing bugs. My kind of napkins.

And you? What are you collecting slash obsessing over as of late? Come on, you must share. After all, I've been blabbing about napkins for a very long time....

and the sad part is that I could probably go on for a whole lot longer!

An ode to fruits who've gone before us (watermelon lemonade!!!)

I'm contantly begging to buy fruits for epic desserts. You know, lemon semifredo, blackberry cobbler and the list goes on and on. But the even longer list is all the fruits that have gone bad since I was too lazy to make it.

For the record, this happened yesterday. I have a really bad track record of wasting fruit. Such talent I possess! This is clearly going to take me far in life.

So this lemonade, I USED TWO FRUITS THAT DID NOT GO BAD. Ha! Take that, all you 50 different kinds of exotic fruit that now sit in some lonely dump, decomposing into goodness knows. So then, they were all redeemed by this lemonade that is fab for guzzling when you happen to live in the sweltering state, and your ac is broken....IN JULY.

Watermelon Lemonade. Serves 5 (ahem, or one. But really, I wouldn't know.....)

1 lb watermelon,
2 oz lemon juice
1.5 oz agave &
4 oz water

To make it:  blend everything together in your blender, then strain it through a fine mesh strainer. Pour into pineapple cups. Striped straws optional but highly encouraged.

Enjoy guzzling/sipping/drinking normally or whatever you fancy! Have you made any fancy lemonades??

XOXO,
Lemonade freakazoid.

(kinda sorta.)

(okay fine, totally.)

C is for citron

Is it weird that lemons and limes give me cuddly feelings?

I don't think so!

That being said, citron is just as cuddly! It's like a good old quilt and a steaming mug of cocoa on a rainy day. And of course, a good bit a procrastination mixed in. Those rainy days, shoot.

Anyway! Citron is one of my faves and yeah I could say yellow but I could also be boring, and that's boring. I could also try using some logic, but maybe not! Thumbs up for citron and that this ramble fest is coming to an end.

A very dry Fourth of July!

While telling a friends mom about my 4th of July habits which include a.) covering my ears b.) hiding under blankets c.) cowering in closets or d.)all of the above. And her response? "I've heard of dogs like that."

So yep, me and the dogs.

That's why this 4th of July was monumental! I was outside! All night! On a boat for that matter, so of course I really had nowhere to go. But then again, there was always the option of a swan dive into the river. However, after much internal debate I decided that a dive would mess up my hair, so I opted for the air dry fireworks view. And so what if I was a basket case....at least my hair still looked good.

And huge kudos to Emily for letting me use her camera for a bit since I was too lazy to bring mine. Nothing like an honest friendship right?

And now, some pictures of me looking like an alien/Frankenstein half breed. Sorry not sorry, I was desperate. Then again, maybe I should have revisited my swan dive plan?

and that kid's, is a Fourth of July well done. So happy I have this blogdidty to remember 4th of July's past. Kudos and Kit Kats to you!

(whatever.)

And a flashback to {2012} and {2011}

PS: And see Emily's 4th pics HERE.

Having nothing to say but saying quite a lot anyhow...

Guys, this is kinda odd.

I really have NOTHING to say!

I mean, I could talk about how lazy I've been today or how sluggish the weather is. I could blab about how disgusting I look....not to mention the fact that my shirt has been backwards all day. Oh, and then there's the fact that I bought a head scarf and I'm not really sure how I feel about it. Some heads for made for scarves, Some not. The blunt truth my friends. I have a feeling my head will air on the not side of the issue, but I'm too nervous to try it on. And being nervous like that results in an informal staring contest with that dang headscarf wondering "Should i?"

Please, say no. I don't want want to feel inferior. Why is your head more headscarf worthy than mine?? Where did I go wrong? My poor, poor shaped cranium...rest in peace, beloved headscarf.

And since when did this post get all sad? And since when did I have something to say?

Two things about this: I did not use spell check, computer or brain version, I am sorta sorry if I spelled everything wrong. I'm also not sorry, because I was way to lazy to use either version. Thing two: Excuse the hideous gray. That I am sorry for, because I miss pink!

On another note, I tried on the headscarf. Let's just say my hypothesis was right. My head sorta looked like an eggplant.

Eggplant brain, over and out!

PS: Sophie wanted me to tell you, she really loves her new headscarf. her cranium is now fully in style.

MY HEART AND AND A HOT PINK HOUSE....

this is me, without any makeup and with a whole mouthful of braces. but on the other hand, why not be real?
and it sorta, kinda but not really looks like I'm wearing a cat eye, which I am really okay with. So anyway!
 ______________________________

I am no wordsmith. Like, at all. I wish I could be cool and artsy and heartfelt but my heart is kinda like "GOOD GRAVY I AM AS HAPPY A BIRD WITH A FRENCH FRY!!!!" And that is seriously as deep as things get. However, there are times (ah, like right now!) where I wish I could put my thoughts or more specially feelings into words that make sense. And maybe stop saying like! That will be the day!

As I've grown up, I've changed a whole lot. And good grief, I'm not even finished! I used to know what I was going to be, no ifs, ands or buts about it kids! That 10 year old me was sure that a lawyer was my destiny...

No, I am not kidding, that is really what I thought was going to be. Although, it is kinda hilarious slash ironic, is it not. I mean, can you picture me in a pantsuit? Hopefully not.

Oh, and then there was the cupcake baker and the cashier (Go target!!) and the clothing designer (ouch.) and the paint chip namer (still wishing...) and the Vera Bradley photographer and the American Girl stylist and the.....

Clearly, I was a very imaginative kid with WAAAAAY to much time on my hands.

But, the older I get and dare I say, the wiser (don't faint. It's a scary thought, I give you that.) the more I realize I have absolutely NO CLUE how to run a successful life. Like, you wouldn't' believe how cruddy I am at it. My flop list is so huge, and sadly ever growing.

Which brings me to my next point: the older and dare I say wiser I get, the more I see God's hand at work in my life. The more I learn and grow, the more I see his plan and I realize that mine, kinda stinks! And even though I'm just a silly girl from a silly little town with a next door neighbor who's house is hot pink (unrelated factoid, of course.) God is using me and working in my life and that is just awesome. Really and truly. And I am in no way writing this to say "my next neighbors house is cooler than yours." (although, it might very well be.) but instead to remind myself to continue to trust and seek his will for my life above all else.

All that gibberish for one decent sentence! You see, if I was actually trying to write well I'd be here for a decade or two. Which obviously is why I gave up yesterday. And on a side note, thanks. For reading, being understanding, and fist pumping. Because, I'm sure you were!

1 Corinthians 10:13  No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
