Books about Jesus that aren't the bible

When I began walking with the Lord, let it be known that I had NO IDEA what I was doing. Being raised in a Christian home didn't even truly prepare me for the what was to come. The beginning steps of my faith were so shaky and timid...not because I didn't trust but simply because,
I didn't know where to start.

Being a Christian is the best thing ever. But also, it's a little daunting. There's so much to learn, so much wisdom to glean and an endless amount of glory giving stories to be heard! And while I should preface this by saying that the bible is hands down the best place to start, there are other books that the Lord used to encourage me in my walk and help me to grow closer to him. Maybe you're unsure of your footing, like me. Maybe the endless amounts of christian books and blog posts seems daunting. I get it! But if you're like I was, a girl searching and yearning to fall even more in love with The God of the Universe, then you might like these books as well.

But like I said, the bible is always the best! :)))

B is for blue

Not much to say about this other than "I LOVE BLUE" and "I WISH IS WAS A MILLIONAIRE!" But isnt' that what every girl says after she makes a mood board with all her retail dreams?

Absolutely!

Have a happy weekend, full of beautiful blue things. I insist!

I like Bikes

I really honestly do. I just love them. My bike is adorable. I think I need to name it. BTW, I like naming things. I even name some of my outfits. But back to bikes. My bike is a lovely purple beach cruiser. Generally I'm not into purple, but occasionally I make exceptions. Purple is always trying to steal pinks place. But this is a really cool shade of purple, and I was okay with it. I even have a basket on my bike. I adore it. I wish my punk would fit in it. She's too big for it. Believe me, I tried it.

As for who patented the bike, I'm not sure. But I really do appreciate whoever did. I would love to be riding my bike in celebration of today's holiday. But unfortunately I can't. I'm probably going to dream about it tonight.

Tennis Shoe day update:
I had a wonderful time at the pot-luck and at the King and I. I observed that here Tennis shoes are the latest style and worn by many. I saw no Converse, and I was sad. I was alone.

Good news! I finally found my kite. It was in a box. It has this handy little clip on it so I can clip it to my purse. That way if I'm out and about and have the sudden urge to fly a kite, my kite will be right there. I'm guessing I won't ever need to fly my kite on the go. I'll keep my kite stationary.

I'm also christening today "Finish a book day" because I need to do just that. I'm terrible with books. I am reading about 6 right now. I need to finish some. The reason is that I usually forget my place in the book. So rather than trying to find my place I just start a new one. A very bad habit.

Sincerely,
Biking Bookworm

Failed Test

I had a wonderful idea for today. It was going to be a fabulous sense celebrating. I messed up. I thought there was such a thing as instant Jello. Apparently I was wrong. I'm going to try my amazingly scientific experiment tomorrow. I still have alot to say about Celebration of the Senses day. Of Course.

First I must tell you about this book. It has been one of my most favorite books. I stumbled across it a few days ago I as I was going through my massive stacks of who knows what. I was delighted because I knew Celebration of the Senses day was just around the corner.
There it is! I just love it. When I found it the other night, I insisted upon reading it to the rest of the family. They insisted on not listening. Oh well. You see, I've had this book a very long time. They already know the story. They've heard me exclaim over it before.

This book is all rhyming. I adore books that rhyme. I think I like them so much because I have no rhyme or rhythm to me whatsoever. I soak up others rhyming nonsense. Thank you Mrs. Johnson for coming into my life. And Mr. Jones, you're pretty neat too. Basically, this book is all about our five senses. Rhymes for each one. Woot.

Now I will tell you about my celebration filled day.

As I said, I was called back for an encore performance. I have no picture of my halo. I don't deserve it anymore. I failed. I forgot my lines. I got the curtain stuck on my wings. I stubbed my toe. I don't see acting in my future either. My future is looking pretty grim. I need some encouragement. Soon.

After my encore debacle, I went with my grandma to a delightful little shop. There they had a quaint little garden. And I mean quaint in a good way. I think gardens are just so awesome. And this one was especially awesome because there was a chair made out of grass. I am dead serious. No joke. I am going to go back and take a picture. I'll show you. You'll realize this is no laughing matter. The store was delightful. I've already said that. They had great music (Hearing) and I found this Merlot candle that I love (Smell) and there was several interesting things for my fingers to explore (touch.) Or course I saw thing. That counts too. For those of you that don't know, I explore with my hands. I'm a toucher. That's how I learn. It's bizarre, I know. I have an expert sense of touch. By the way.

After that I went to grandma's to hang out. I made this cute tea towel. I signed my name with a heart. How lovely. Then I snuggled up with this extra soft and fluffy blanket to watch the Trial. I enjoyed that blanket alot today. I also liked watching the Trial. But that's for another day.

Here's me and the soft blanket. I need one of these. I really do. Birthday anyone? Just keep that in mind.

More massive stack's of who knows what await me. Goodnight. I enjoyed this day. I want that Merlot candle. But I like Yankee better. (Yankee Candles Em! Don't we know who loves them? )

Sincerely,
I think you need a sofa in your yard

PS: I'll tell you about my expert experiment tomorrow. Now that I know there is no such thing as instant Jello. At our picnic on Dr. Pepper day, Someone said that jell0 used to be made out of horse's hove's. I refuse to believe it. And I don't really care. Its a pre-fab wonder. Let's leave it at that.

PPS: There is this insanely loud cricket outside my window. I want him to go away. I can't enjoy my blogging to the fullest with an insane cricket around. That would not be right.
