Sad news

Here's the deal : we are still tree-less. I am Michael Buble-less.

Hopefully all that will change today.

And neither of those are really all that sad.

Have a wonderful Tuesday!

Silent (day)

This was a very interesting weekend for me. I was forced to be quiet. It was brutal.

I lost my voice. I could whisper, but not talk. Of course, the weekend when our friends come to town! Maybe I was the only person who didn't not hearing my endless chatter!
Jana and I used to be the same height....4 years ago.
Jana and Megan.
Punk was looking so cute!
Before I fell over.

I believe we are finally getting a Christmas Tree (Can I hear a woot from someone please?) Dad thought Christmas was 3 weeks away, not 2. I am going to buy Michael Buble's album today. That is good news.

XOXO,
Silent Person

Pages Changes

  • The Newvember page has been embedded back in the boonies of my November posts.
  • Pink Christmas Page is up.
Christmas is 2 weeks away. I am in total shock.

Good old Mrs. Clause

We all have one.

When the Christmas decorations come out, so does the haunted, spooky, dreaded decorations . It's the decoration we can't figure out why on earth our mothers like it. It's the one we have nightmares about.

Well, maybe not.

But anyway.

Mrs. Clause is back!

Oh, how I hate her. She looks like she's spent to much time baking cookies for Santa in the hot smelly kitchen. She looks like she's been run down by greedy and hungry little elves. Her hand is at the breaking point after mixing cookie batches for years and years.

Her cheeks got burnt buy the hot oven. Her glasses got sat on by Rudolph.

At this point, I could begin to write poetry about the Nightmares of Mrs. Clause. But I wont.

And sorry for giving you nightmares.

Ponder this

There but not

Tissue Paper Christmas Trees

I've started decorating my room. Our family is not really into decorations. It's just not their thing. Which is totally fine - but I love decorating for Christmas. This year I am going to make my beautiful bedroom as Christmasy as possible. Then I can enjoy Christmas decorations and everyone else wont have to bother with putting as many up. It works out.

Enough Jibberish. Today's Pink Christmas Craft?

Tissue Paper Christmas trees of course!

First, gather these things: Tissue Paper, A Styrofoam cup, one piece of printer paper, scissors and you'll need a TON of hot glue (I used almost 3 sticks for this.)
Roll the paper into sort of a tepee looking' thing. Glue it so it wont come un done. Then glue it on to the cup - the cup should come about halfway up the cone.
Cut All your tissue paper into pieces this size. They do not need to be exact (and clearly mine is not) but just around this size.
Grab the center of the paper and gather it.
And twist the ends like this.
Then flatten it so you have a cute little flowery thing.
And then glue it on to the cup/paper. Repeat this about 1000 times. (Have to point out the foil bokeh!)

I will tell you that this does take a bit of time. It is not hard at all, but it takes quite alot of tissue to cover the whole thing. This would be a great thing to do while watching TV - this craft does not require serious concentration. It takes a little while...(Look at the bokeh!)
But eventually victory will be yours!I put mine on a cute little shelf my by door. I love the texture of the tree - it is so poofy!

Enjoy! xoxo
