Obscure Location

Right now I'm somewhere totally different that where I usually blog. Wait for it....I'm at the kitchen counter! Woah. I know its crazy. Yes, I'm feeling okay.

Lets get on with it. Its national Tourist day! I actually thought today was tomorrow, and tomorrow is No Socks day so I was prepping (and being sock less) for that. But I'm ahead of the times, as always and now I've got to go on about being touristy. Thankfully I'm a pretty good national tourist. I am hoping this year we can take a North Eastern trip and cover all the states I've missed. I've been to mount Rushmore, the Alamo, Chicago, seen Mexico, The golden gate bridge, DC and I've been to 38 states total. But what I really want is to be a worldwide traveler. I want to see the Eiffel tower and the Louvre and Big Ben. I also wouldn't mind hanging out at a cute little French Bakery and gorging myself on croissants. But that might come later.

Thanks and goodbye. The kitchen counter has been good to me, but I'm finished now.

Sincerely,
Or I could just go to NYC.....(mother!)

When Chicago dogs cause you problems.

If you happened to drive out of your local Sonic a few days ago and see a girl trying to stuff a Chicago dog in her mouth, that was probably me. I'll admit I wasn't graceful, but what's a girl to do? Stop eating? Never. Chicago dogs are normally uneventful and mellow. Tasty but not exciting. But I was graced with an ordinary dog. It was adventure packed. It was a rascal. But I can be bossy if I want and I bossed that thing into my mouth like a seasoned pro.

So if you just so happen to find yourself with a troublemaker Chicago dog, do these things and in battle Random person vs. Chicago dog, you'll win!

Order it the way you want it. Otherwise you might find yourself scooping of sweet relish. And peppers.

If you didn't follow step one...dispose of all unwanted items as soon as possible. Unless of course you want to sit on a pepper the whole way home.

Keep everything contained. And contained does not involve onions in your shorts.

Eat the pickle with the hotdog. Or you are at risk to by squirted by your pickle.

Toothpicks required. Poppy seeds can be only slightly stingy at times.

And that's how we seasoned pros do our Chicago dogs. We might not include me. I'm just speaking on behalf of the public masses. They wanted you to know.

Go and Eat your Chicago Dog. And don't get onions in your pants. Amen.

PPS: Beverage day post? Nope. But I did celebrate so don't think I forgot. Also, sorry for my Mexican rant. I love ya you Mexican. But be a proud American because America is amazing!

Get your fiesta on

It's only appropriate that today we use as many Spanish words as possible. After all, its Cinco De Mayo! Which first makes me think of Mexicans in sombreros shaking maracas and then makes me think of mayonnaise. Scratch that. It makes me think of mayonesa. I'm just trying to be authentic here people. My favorite color is rosa. I ate too much pastel today. And pastel is not chips and salsa. I would have said so because there is no use making chips and salsa fancy. It is just chips and salsa. It does not need to be jazzed up. No need to say you're having crisped tortilla pieces with spicy tomato brucheta dip.

I didn't do anything ferociously Mexican today because I was busy being amazing, being award awards and getting incredibly nervous in front of lots of people. But don't Mexicans get nervous...I mean nervioso? I think so. I'm just being a true Mexican then. I also love how I use being amazing and getting nervous in the same sentence. They don't totally go together.

One more thing about Mexican people: First of all, if you are a Mexican, you live in Mexico. If you lived in Mexico but live here now you are an American. You may have a great heritage or whatever, but you left it behind. Now you are American and there are no special benefits and you don't get catered too. Where's the bonus for 5th generation white American women? It doesn't work that way. If you live here, you are an American and you should be proud of it. End of Story.

Second: Mexicans, keep the accent to your self. Do we really need to hear "tortilla" like "tortiLLLLia"? Nope. Same goes for you Italians. Yes Giada. That's you I'm talking too.

That's all I have to say about todays celebración. I got out my little rant about Mexican-Americans which ALWAYS bothers me. I don't really know why, but it really does. As I have really said....realmente.
HAPPY CINO DE MAYO!

Sincerley,

Me gustan los elefantes de color rosa.

PS: Si usted está leyendo esto, usted engañado.

PPS: The whole reason I sat down to write this post was to tell you I've updated my goals. There are way more. But at the time my memory was failing me. But now everything is up and here's the link for you to go look. Wish me luck on this months endeavors....Muchas gracias!

May the 4th

Happy Star Wars day! Today is the celebration for our inner Star Wars nerd.... And don't be modest, you know you are one! I have a funny story about star wars day (and it may or may not be another blond moment.) 2 or 3 years ago, I learned about Star Wars Day. I was at some nature thing with a bunch of other homeschoolers. I was wearing a hoodie. Gasp. Anyway, fashion faux-pas aside, someone mentioned that it was on May 4th and then said "may the 4th be with you." But then (cue hair color change) I said, "well, they really could have done it on any other day, it just had to be on the 4th." and everyone stopped scooping their pond scum long enough to give me big blank stares. I tried to reinforce my statement by saying it could have been in June (yes, I did say, June the 4th be with you if you were wondering.)

About 1 minute later I realized what a dork I was (am).

You are so glad I've grown out of all this right? Me too.

My favorite movies? Revenge of the sith and Return of the Jedi. Return of the Jedi because I have great summer memories of watching it 8 billion times with good friends. Oh and I do totally love the earth Vadar song and I always skip back and watch the parts with the song over and over again. And then, Revenge of the sith. Spell check says it should be revenge of the sigh, but for once I'm right. I first watched it in 2010 with broke. Watching anything with Brooke makes you love it. Except Icarly, but that's another story. So we are watching it and we get to the part where Anakin Is burning up and right as his hair lights on fire Brooke goes "oh, there goes all his luscious hair!" now whenever anyone Jenkins Anakin, I always think of his wavy soft luscious hair. I can't help it. It was so funny.

I should talk about Yoda (or actually, talk about Yoda, I should.) but we know all about him. My favorite Jedi is Mace windu. (seriously, his light saber is purple.) and I was totally shouting at the sigh sith when he was thrown out the window to his metropolitan grave. I almost cried. And I absolutely hated that lousy sith after that. And that's a wrap.

Sincerely,
"Luke....*slurp*....I am your father."*

*said by me when I had an incredible amount of spit in my mouth.

Happy {Fri} Day: 5/4

Yikes! Its already Friday. I pretty much forgot it was Friday until 20 seconds ago. We did a bunch of things this week, and huzzah, I actually posted a fair amount and (huzzah again!) I enjoyed it! You can hold the applause though, but I know you are secretly cheering. I might post about my Chicago Dog, It was pretty funny.

How's your week been? Feel free to comment your happy things. I'm off to prepare for the first swim of the season, woot!xoxo...Kryn

PS: Star Wars Day celebration soon. If I was punny, I'd call you a padawan. But I'm trying to be normal. You understand don't you young padawan?

Baby Bowling

At first, I deemed my baby day a failure and was going to substitute it. But the more I though about it the more I realized how babyish my day was. Of course, there are two parts to baby day. If it was 2003, Justin Bieber's Baby song would not even be considered an option for celebrating. Especially since it had not even been written. But now you think JB when you hear the word baby. Or at least I do. And probably every other teenage girl thinks the same thing.

So I went bowling today. Cue the singing, dancing in the lanes and of course JB and we are in babyland.  Of course, our bowling alley is a little less glamorous. First of all, you can actually see the lanes and second of all you actually bowl and not dance and sin about how your first love broke your heart for the first time. But other than those minor details, the tropical Suburbia bowling alley and Babyland are pretty much identical twins. (I'm so punny.)

And then, I bowled like a baby. I complete and utter baby. And baby's who are reading this, I'm sorry. I must join your blankie loving clan because I can't bowl to save my 2 year old life. I think I got 38 one game and 23 the next. Oh just kidding, I meant 138 and 123. I wish. If I'd been in the Babyland bowling alley and been dancing and wearing high tops, I'd probably actually have gotten 138 for reals. But in tropical Suburbia, I was a baby with my bowling.

I think next time I go bowling, I'll go on adult day. Or better yet, Senior day. I'd for sure be a rock star and maybe beat my high score. Of 38.

Sincerely,
I'll always be a baby bowler

May Day!

Happy May Day! Today I will be brief because I've had a long (super fun) day. I also took about 10 wazillion pictures, which I'm sure you'll see in time. So for a late night May Day Celebration, please accept this months goals. (You can look at my April goals here.) (Oh, and PS: I'll review those soon, when I've got time.) (pps: celebrations!)

  • Read the bible twice a day
  • Make 3 different kinds of bread
  • Start my polka dot dress (so you can guess how far I got with April Goals!)
  • Give more complements
  • Finish an AHG Badge
  • Blog Lots!
  • Write more letters and collect more stamps
  • Don't use the computer till 3:00.
  • Get a Swirly Ice cream cone
  • Sew a zippered pouch
  • take pictures more places.

And as always, (Or actually not always) a cheesy picture. Am I a cheese ball or what? (You better say what.)

UPDATE:
April was a flop goal wise. May needs to be much better. But I had VERY optomistic goals last moth so I'm toning it down a little for May. But anyway, here's what I crossed off last month.

Clean the Pie Safe
Run more (work out, whatever.)
Practice drawing
Spend more time reading/studying the bible
Memorize verses
Finish my polka dot dress
10 minute pick up in my room each day
Take the puppies out every morning, no complaining
Get up earlier
Make French toast.

oh, it was pathetic. But seriously? Who expects a teenage girl to keep her room in order everyday? No one I hope.
