The sixth summer

SAYONARA SENIOR YEAR from Kryn Nick on Vimeo.

Sometimes, I just really love my blog.

Which is funny because I've mentioned my blog to a total of 3.4 people and whenever my mother even hints about in conversation with others my first instinct it to scream, run away and then live as a recluse in the mountains. (But you know, mountains that are within walking distance of Starbucks.)

Anyhow, the other day I started recording some videos, never intending them to end up on the internet (but then again, isn't that how all things start out?) and it was all downhill from there. And in the process of filming, editing and uploading this video I stumbled across my forgotten vimeo account that had been resting in peace all this time. Having been buried under buzzfeed articles and contour tutorials, it proved to be a casket for a lot of surprising gems. And if preserving embarrassing memories for the sake of posterity, future boyfriends and laughters sake isn't the sole purpose of my life, I have no idea what is.

So anyway, I love my blog. Why? Because there's a lot here. A lot of typos and a lot of poorly composed photos and headache inducing graphics but yeah, it's my life. And all things considered, I like my life.

That being said, I'm still not opposed to switching lives with Taylor Swift! If she's down for being about 3 feet shorter than we're good to go.

Just like every year, there's a list to interrupt the lull of sleepy summer days and keep me motivated and moving forward. Because nothing says reaching your life goals like henna and sunrises on the beach, right?
"IT WAS ONLY A SUNNY SMILE, AND A LITTLE COST IN THE GIVING,
BUT LIKE MORNING LIGHT IT SCATTERED THE NIGHT
AND MADE THE DAY WORTH LIVING."
.Here's to fresh tan lines, salty hair and all that jazz.

Summer of all Summers, List to top all Lists....

(but first, blackmail material.)
(in which I officiate a wedding...)

It was the summer of all Summers....

I keep forgetting I have homework. I keep forgetting that I have a Latin test this week. I keep forgetting I'll have 4 volleyball games next week and worst of all, I keep forgetting that summer is over!

My summer started off in Italy and ended at Teen Pact, filled with trips and so many memories made. I mean, if you've read my blog once or twice, you may have noticed that it was pretty doggone amazing.

But maybe I'm a little biased?

As always, the end of August brings that sad yet exciting dig through the blog archives to find my summer list....(which as it is an annual tradition, I nearly forgot about it.)

SUMMER OF ALL SUMMERS, LIST TO TOP ALL LISTS......

READ: If I stay
SING: Oceans
PLAY: All Of Me
STRUM: new techniques.
SAY YES: to as many social events as possible
SNAP: photos and videos of everything
BAKE: something with lemons! i don't know why!
CREATE: Palm Beach Chic all the way
SHARE: All my Italy pictures.
PLAN: Girls weekend!!!!

As one might notice, I did fairly well! Obviously I don't take these things (or really anything else in life!) too seriously, so it's mostly a summer Suggestion list. But it's fine by me! I'm also planning on a Fall list so that a.) I don't die from schoolwork and b.) I stay sane.

I don't know about you, but sanity is really underrated.

PS: Girls in our youth group are THE BEST. Above video is proof.

"That old September feeling, left over from school days, of summer passing, vacation nearly done, obligations gathering, books and football in the air … Another fall, another turned page: there was something of jubilee in that annual autumnal beginning, as if last year’s mistakes had been wiped clean by summer.”

Summer, you've been good, I'll see you in 30 weeks. Don't be late!

FROM PARIS WITH LOVE.

Ever since coming home, Paris is all I can think about! At my first social event I felt a great urge to share with everyone of my amazing experience in Paris. Person to Person was an option, but I felt like a little presentation (with pictures! everyone loves pictures!) would be more interactive option. You know, and then EVERYONE would know how magical that city is.

But since I hadn't had enough time to prepare some cheesy jokes, I just stuck to my usual plan of bringing every conversation  back to Paris. Talking about snacks "They have the best food there!", commenting on the pretty house we were in  "The houses in Paris were BEAUTIFUL!" It was a good plan! It worked! Though I'm pretty sure everyone was sick of Paris and that is a sad thing indeed.

Anyway, I made a video! It's pretty rough (someone send me a tripod ASAP) but it's perfect in it's own way because its Paris and Paris is perfect so it all works out in the end. Please enjoy a blurry view of the city and get ready for 80 million blog posts to follow, all with an underlying theme of "I WANT TO GO TO PARIS AGAIN."

Not to shout or anything, but really!

Okay, I'm gonna go cry now. Really guys, Paris is incredible, even when blurry and shaky cam are in full swing. Now, does anyone have any tissues handy?

#KRYNGOESPLACES

Good morning all! I'm here to inform you that it's Boston/Maine week here on the old blog. We took a trip this weekend and it was one of those trips that went by so fast but felt like years (in a good way! happy years!) I feel as though I won't find a humorous way to share my thoughts about the trip, mostly since my thoughts are like "GAHHH! MAINE IS MAGIC!" But maybe you find that humorous? Maybe read these at 2 in the morning, since everything is funnier then.

Even my blog posts, I hope!

Today, a video! But first, let me apologize for a few things....
-I got my hair cut! Of course, hair never looks how one wants while traveling, so please pretend you didn't notice.
-And I really liked my shoes, apparently! Hope you do too, since you will see them about 90 times.
-My video making skills make our day look like a snooze-fest. I promise, it wasn't!
-the name is purely inspired by forgetfulness and laziness. I'm overflowing with fruit of the spirit, clearly!

It was a nice try! Someone please introduce me to a tripod, I feel as though we might really hit it off.

Noise fest

I realize, this is kind of a confusing photo. By the looks of it you could assume that a.) I stand in awkward positions or b.) I have really short legs. Oh, and there's c.) I got REALLY into the noise for editing. So noisy in fact, it is practically a noise fest! Harmonica's, kazoos and whoopee cushions welcome.
Noise fest? I like the sound of that.

It must be your lucky day, because I'm posting a video. It's a silly little video I made on Vine (you know, gotta fit in with the masses!) but it's about ten wazillion times better
than the last video I posted. Mostly because I'm not talking all about the wonders of a teddy bear....because that's just too close to reality.

Un-German.

I UN-German and proud of it. I love all you Germans, but I'm just fine with no German blood in my body. I do love Germany though. They eat the BEST food ever. I seriously wish Americans would be known for something other than greasy hamburgers and french fries.

Today I made a Sweet Genius show with Emily and Andy. It was so hilarious. My accent was perfect and their genius right on. It was truly amazing. The food was less than amazing, but so fun. I loved making my orange cream reduction sauce and my candied apricot strips. I'm not sure Nana enjoyed it as much as we did though. :)

Smile Day:
I am noticing I do weird things when I smile. I kind of tuck up my lip. It makes me look like I have a mustache, and I don't! Its very very bad.

Sincerely,
I am a Sweeeeet Genius....are YOU?

PS:
See what I mean?!?!? Between that and my pointy clavicle, I'm doomed.
