As I was shopping for this (okay, browsing and drooling and wishing I was a millionaire) I though maybe I'd make one of these every week. But then I made it. You have no idea how tedious it was to arrange 20 little dots in a row. But that birdie in a beret? Totally worth it.

She...(is me!)
Great News - I'm sick! Okay, not so great, but it does leave a lot of time for eating cookies and watching TV...both of which I'm a pro at.
I took these of myself the first day of school (this is NOT what I wore, don't worry!) I think self timer photos are hilarious because....they're just so weird! The only in focus one I got I was staring at a plant like it had two heads we. It was just awkward (as if these are not!)
PS: Does anyone know how to make the photos larger than the extra large size? Does it require any brains? If so, I don't think I can handle it. I'll just go back to eating my cookies, it's better that way.

Be right back
We officially started school! Which means I've been sort (kind) (not really) too busy to post I'm also kind of lazy and enjoy staying up till 12 AM watching House Hunters International. Who doesn't? I'll get back in the swing of things soon. In the meantime, don't have too much fun without me!Xoxo,
5 episodes in a row.
What to bring when you barge in
Well, maybe you call ahead. Regardless, make these! If you like Red Velvet, you'll love them. If you like cookies, you'll love them.
And if you enjoy stuffing your face with food, then these are for you!
And the secret is, these are made out of a box cake mix! (Yes, I do make cookies from scratch!) It's so easy...and so good. And so easy. And so good.

Red Velvet Crinkle Cookies (from The Novice Chef)
Yield: 18 cookies
Crinkle Cookies from a boxed
cake mix are one of my favorite cookies to make. First off, they
literally take 5 minutes of work from me. Second, they are delicious and
chewy! You can use any boxed cake mix in this recipe to make crinkle
cookies...some of my personal favorites are Lemon and Chocolate!
Ingredients:
6 tablespoons butter, melted and cooled
2 large eggs
18.25 oz box Red Velvet Cake Mix
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 large eggs
18.25 oz box Red Velvet Cake Mix
1/2 cup powdered sugar
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375°F and line two cookie
sheets with a silicon mat or parchment paper. Place powdered sugar in a
shallow bowl and set aside.
In a large bowl, combine butter, eggs and red velvet cake mix until there are no large lumps left.
Roll dough into 1 inch balls (about 1 tablespoon worth of dough) and coat in powdered sugar. Place on cookie sheets, leaving about 2 inches for spreading.
Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the tops have cracked and the tops look set (the centers will still be gooey). Let sit for 5 minutes and then transfer to a cooling rack.
Serve warm (over Bluebell vanilla ice cream!) or store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
And I think you can make these with any kind of cake mix as well. And seriously? These make AMAZING Whoopie pies! Whoopie!

Summer is over
We were supposed to start school yesterday. But with mom being out of town, I opted for going to a friends and having fun instead. Sadly, today came and so did school. Although, I did learn some French, so it's not ALL bad.
Tomorrow, it really, REALLY will start. We have our first classes of the year. Weirdly enough, I haven't even planned what I'm wearing. Last year, on Thursday night I would talk to Emily about what we were wearing on Wednesday. Even one time, she told me she was wearing a cardigan and I said "oh, how are you buttoning it??" Now days, I'd like to say I'm not so shallow. But sadly, that's not the case! I'll probably be into hair or shoes or something equally silly.
And now, I'm reading PW's favorite names. Because it's the cool thing to do! It's hilarious, my moms first name and middle name are on the list. (for those of you that don't know, my mom and Ree were best friends when they were kids.) I call it my "connection." Problem is, she's never met me.
It's a bummer when things like that happen.
Have an amazing first day of school! (If you've already started school, have an amazing tomorrow. Okay, I'm being weird.)

In the City
I'm think deserted island is a little more my style. I've heard clams are not very threatening.
Keeping up with tradition
I have a friend with my friends family. It was sort of an accident, but now after a whole year of being there on EVERY one of her family members birthday, we have to keep it going! In my opinion, it's a really cool tradition! Sure, we don't tell them we are coming, and yes, we may come well after 9:30, but hey! I love it....and I hope they do too (although, I never bothered to ask. I'm really thoughtful like that.)
I did come bearing a gift of Red Velvet Crinkle Cookies. And we sang. And rolled on the floor and laughed and did gymnastics and imitated commercials. It was truly beautiful.
Happy Birthday Mrs. W!
