(instagram picture, sorry!)

Good times people! Why? No, I didn't win the lottery. But! After 10 plus years of being sleep deprived, I think I FINALLY figured what I need to do I can get a great night sleep! Ever since I was little I've had trouble sleeping so the fact that I actually have felt RESTED is pretty amazing! ( I know, big whoop.)

Okay, I'm done for now. I finally had a good volleyball practice, yay!

Not too bad

Nothing weirdly awkward has happened this week. Which equal parts thrilling and scary. Scary as in, I must have been acting unlike my usual self. Although, if you see me at volleyball....that's awkward. I do ballet type moves when I pick up the ball (since it's always on the ground) and arabesques and leaps when I'm off to catch it.

It's beautiful!

Anyway, the jist of things:

-answering a question in a response email, then sending it without finishing, starting another one and doing it again and THEN realizing they didn't even ask the question i was answering.

-cleaning my teeth with a knitting needle.

-in the middle of a suspenseful movie imitating the target commercials by spinning imaginary records and saying "yo backpacks, yo backpacks" in my best rapper voice.
(in case you were wondering, sophie and I were kicked out at that point.)

-knitting and watching plastic surgery infomercials. For a long while.

And so there you have it. What was funny about your week? After I've told you all this, I think you should share a thing or two!

I sent 10 letters this morning. WOOT! xoxo

We love riding in the car

Riding in the car can be totally interesting or totally boring. This time, it involved Mom and I singing songs from the 70's and dad oinking simultaneously. Although, I was pretty much out of it due to all the juice boxes I had been inhaling, so don't take my word for it. You could probably just ask the people who watched us drive into the rest stops and stagger out of the car. We were a little dazed as we head to the doggie park to let the pups do their thing. After all, having just had your dreams of being a famous singer crushed, what are you supposed to do. Dance in public? Oh wait, I've done that.

Yeah, okay. I'll admit, I took some self portraits in the car. (obviously) I haven't taken some in forever (for good reason!) I was just imitating all the teenage girls who take pictures of themselves with their sunglasses on puckering their lips, then convert it to black and white and make it their profile picture for everyone to see. Like we all think that's attractive.

And yes, I did notice that your eyes just wandered to the left header. At least I'm not puckering right? Anyone, anyone?

PS: For those of you CAN take good self portraits, I think you are the bees knees. Because really, I can't figure it out!

V-Ball Update

Every time I start something that involves effort and commitment, there comes a time when I get completely fed up and declare to mom I'm quitting whatever it is and pursing a career in underwater basket weaving. Forget the pain, sweat and hard work!  Who wouldn't wanna weave baskets under water...I mean seriously!

Okay, so in case you are wondering, that happened with volleyball.

I didn't do anything too terribly. It's just always a little bit frustrating when you try and try and still cant get it right. Serves don't get over. Bumps go the wrong direction. The sets really shouldn't count as sets at all...

And if I were intelligent, I'd make up some super inspiring quote about perseverance and such. But sadly, the movie stars and fashion designers have taken all the good lines. Thank goodness the internet has a boundless amount!

Thanks for listening to me whine. Here's to better practices, and to actually getting the ball over the net!

PS: I realize this is not an exciting post - sorry!

It's here.

You guys, heaven is here. On earth. On isle 27 at Target.

It's called Washi tape. And you can get some too! That is, if I haven't already taken it all.

Friday Failures

I'm serious, It seems like all forces in nature are against me when it comes to Happy Friday. Thursday we decided to head to the city and do some touristy things - but that meant me being gone on Friday....of course. Someday maybe, I'll conquer the Fridays. Until then, I'll just eat my grilled cheeses and drink juice boxes and pretend I'm five years old.

See ya on the monkey bars!

I'll share more pictures soon...xoxo

You are really, REALLY, not alone!

I know a lot of bloggers participate in Awkward and Awesome Thursday. I personally love it. It makes me feel a little more secure in the fact that, I;m not the ONLY one who does dorky things! So comforting right? But since I usually post the weeks "awesome things" so to speak, on Friday, I think I'd just spew the awkward things. Because really, things this awkward, must be spewed. Please, understand you are not alone in your attempts a a normal life. I try too.....

- during communion, thinking the pastor said to drink the cup, drinking the juice, then realizing everyone else, ISN'T and spitting it all back into the cup. (think of the 300 plus people who might have been watching! on second thought, don't.)

- keeping your head bowed and eyes shut for 2 minutes, while the pastor is praying....or so you thought.

- Seeing the music director at your church in your friends neighborhood, and reciting a radio drama in the weirdest voice at the top of your lungs. (Hi, it's me Em!)

- Practically screaming when you see that peanut butter is buy one get one free (And I rarely eat peanut butter!)

-when you spend 15 minutes explaining to your mom why family bathrooms are so much nicer.

-getting knee pads and being uncertain if they are the right kind, so you say you are going to "Show them to the judge." Also known as, my coach.

There was one more HILARIOUS thing I'd love to add, but it's not really that blog appropriate. So I'll just leave you wondering...

Anyway, just realize you are not alone. We all trip on flat surfaces. Or at least some of us. Or at least me.
