LAKE NONA

Last year, May was a crazy chaotic, emotional month for everyone (in our family at least. Hopefully you all didn't experience the same junk!!). Despite the craziness of it all, mom and I somehow managed to make it to Canvas for Mothers Day dinner and somehow it was as though time stood still. The light was golden, the food delicious and we decided that it should definitely become a thing.

One year later, our lives look very different but the sunset through the glass house was just as spectacular and the food just as delicious and we even got free champagne which was a definite win!

Canvas is in Lake Nona which is right outside of Orlando. For being such a touristy city, Canvas is very very peaceful and such a relaxing atmosphere. It sits right on the lake with this amazing glass house on the property. Both times we made our reservation for during golden hour (I'm sure you can see why!) The house was designed and crafted by a local artist and It's basically every fashion bloggers/instagrammers/homeschooled girl's dream come true.

Since last Mothers day, they've expanded the property to include a garden! There were tomatoes and peppers and herbs galore and it's what they use in their cooking. Basically it's the Florida equivalent of Farm-To-Table and I love it. Way to go Florida!

And in case you were wondering, yes we did eat and yes the food was amazing! This time we got scallops and that's a very lame way to put it because they were delicious and adored will all kinds of fancy things that I'm really not worthy of. 

If you're ever in Orlando and looking for a place to eat, Canvas should be first on your list. No Disney Tourists, No chicken fingers on the menu. Just a glass house, good food and the PERFECT place to watch the sun set!

CALI, I LOVE THEE

This trip to California has been long awaited and much anticipated! We were going to do it in March and then August but BOY AM I GLAD we waited till December because the weather was perfect. When dad rolled up in a convertible I was anxious (uh hair!) and excited (mostly anxious.) But as we were driving down the coast with the top down and the christmas music at full volume, I realized it was actually pretty perfect.

BROOKLYN BOUND...VIA THE BRIDGE

I'm not sure if walking across the Brooklyn Bridge is bucket list worthy, but some Australian I follow on instagram mentioned wanting to do it and then I've always wondered if if I'd be missing out by not wanting too!

SO lets talk facts. The  Brooklyn Bridge is well, just a bridge. And the walking path is kinda small, especially when you've got close to the entire population of NYC crossing at once (or so it seems...). But you don't go to admire the woodwork or the pedestrians, as fabulous (read: bizzare) as their fashion choices might be.

When a walk across a bridge has views of  Empire State Building, Freedom Tower and Statue of Liberty, well....

I guess that's something worthy of a bucket list.

TUSCANY TUSCANY

Pinterest loves Tuscany, and I love pinterest. Therefore, I love Tuscany!

I'm so glad all these things make sense.

But anyway, my main request on the trip was to drive through Tuscany. And while our time wasn't quite as romantic as pinterest and I had dreamed up, Tuscany is still incredibly beautiful! First we pulled into someones driveway where little pappi was playing (he even bombed a few pics, silly Italian children!) and the next stop was some random castle-ish-thing. (who wishes we had more random castles here? Actually, who wishes we had A castle here in America? Me, that's who.)

Okay, off to Rome. And no, don't go all Audrey Hepburn on me.

Because it's March...
