Happy Handshaking

Emily and I know a boy who gives very nice, exuberant handshakes. He would be so pleased to know today is handshake day. My handshakes are pretty good. I once participated in an interview class where we practiced shaking hands. I had to shake hands with several boys that day. I did not enjoy that too much. But the leader complemented on the firmness of my hand shakes. I was pleased with that.

I've been observing handshakes for quite a while now. Probably the worst handshake the world has ever seen, was between Mr. Tumnus and Lucy in The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. It was terribly awkward. I feel like doing the awkward turtle each time I see it. It was very bad.
I can feel the awkwardness from here. These pictures are blurry, but you get the jist. It was a horrible handshake.

As for my shaking of hands today, I'm not certain there will be any. We have been busy painting. Actually, Mom has been painting. I was laying on the bed reading Nancy drew while she was painting. I loved it. She didn't. In honor of Handshake day, I taught Bubby how to shake. She does it quite nicely now. I tried it with Punky, but frankly, she's too stupid. I love my dog but she will never understand.

I have to tell you about the Man Hug. I showed you pictures of Emily yesterday. Em and I have the man hug down. We can do it really well. I'd been observing men's handshakes for awhile also. I discovered that the man hug is widely popular. I also read about it in a body language book. Boom. Its basically where guys shake hands and then sort of pat one another on the back. I think its kind of award too. I prefer hugs. Thankfully, we ladies skip the mag hug. We go for the full hug. We do it right. Huggers. And yes, I did say I was a lady.

Happy handshaking to all you fabulous people! :) I would shake your hand if I could.

Sincerely,
I'm doing the awkward turtle
